Warren is better at providing a spark as RB2 so I don't have any issues if they go with Gainwell here on out. What yinz think?

He was very good today. It could be a committee approach going forwards.

Good to see K. Johnson get some yards today. He looked decent too.

Is it just me, or does KG have some El Bell in him with the studder step? Also great at using it.

Gainwell is like any other running back. He goes as the O-line goes.. Hopefully the O-line had a intervention today, and they play well the rest of the season.

He should at least get some more carries his way.
I know some, not all , but some thought without Warren we wouldn't have a running game, but it was the best of the year, against a Defense, and DC that many said was flat out awesome. So....Yes Gainwell should get a few more carries at least a game.

That may have been the best game of Gainwell's career. No, he should not be the starter over Warren, but maybe he will continue to bail the team out of its stupidity.

I don't think he should start over Warren either, but I believe he is earning more carries.

He's not a bell cow type back, which I hope Johnson can become. But, after watching Gainwell in Philly I was happy to get him. He gets a game ball today for sure.

Agree, I thought Gainwell's best plays today came from where he did not go where he was supposed to go, but instead stopped, changed direction and ran to daylight.

That being said, Jaylen Warren had a game he can build on in Week 3.

Love what KG brings. but think Warren should start and handle the bulk of the carries. Like his burst a little more.

I think that is jumping the gun a bit. KG had basically the same YPC the first 3 games as Warren did behind poor blocking. The OL blocked great this past weekend (and KG ran well with the opportunity in front of him). There's no reason to expect Warren (or really any RB) to not have also played a very quality game with some large holes being opened up by the OL.

Gainwell is a fine player. He lacks the size/YAC ability/power to be relied upon as a feature back for a period of time longer than a couple weeks, but he's a quality change of pace and a good 3rd down back. He played well yesterday when we needed him to. Let's hope the OL continues to play as well as they did vs the Vikings. If they do, our offense is going to be a lot more fun to watch than it was the first 3 weeks.

I hope we get to see Warren run through holes like the ones that were there for Gainwell yesterday. That would be a hell of a lot of fun to watch.

Has Warren ever had 25 touches in a game with us before?
I really cant recall if he has.

    Gained Well!!!

Whole time I was asking myself if Warren would look even better behind the OL. They were plowing yesterday.

That being said, Gainwell made some nice cuts when there was nothing there.

Gainwell ran hard yesterday, can he do it week in week out?
As with Warren I think no.

If I am reading these right, he set a career high with 23 touches against the Patriots. His previous high had been 17.

That's fair. The way I see it, we truly don't have a RB1 unless Johnson steps up.

No, he hasn't. He had 23 a week ago in New England, but that is it. Never got that kind of opportunity with Najee here (and never got a chance due to injury because Najee never missed a game).

Gainwell had a great game. Preferably we'd use both him and Warren. I'd love to see Jaylen get 18-20 and Gainwell get 10-12 touches a game. Both guys are explosive in space and are plus receivers out of the backfield. The backfield feels different (in a good way) with two guys that have a modern NFL skillset. If the OL plays like it did in Ireland for most of the rest of the season, both Warren and Gainwell will have big numbers down the stretch.

Gainwell did have a great game, however let's not forget a lot of those runs came with an extra lineman and the heavy package. Did like how Gainwell stayed patience and waiting for the blocks to develop then made some good cuts. Didn't see this in the past games. Still think Warren could be overall better.
