He let it be known he was strongly fighting for ILB Arthur Brown in the 2nd Rd.

He says Hood has some technical stuff and John Mitchell has to work with him--- We drafted no-one who will be a serious contender for defensive snaps at DE in my opinion ( cajun's )

John Mitchell called Nick Williams a project..... stressing the word project.

I wonder how many of our asst coaches are disappointed tonight?

Man... I'd have def swapped Arthur Brown for Bell, and then the best RB available (very well could've been Bell) for Landry Jones... Then I'd have given this draft an A... As it stands I'd give it a B, or B-

Exactly my point of view. I don't remember agreeing with you so much in the past. Should I start to worry about myself?:lolol:

Eifert/Brown was the way to go... Unless Bell becomes a stud and I'll gladly eat crow

since brown went to the ravens is at least b- if not c+, not only we miss on one of the few greatilb but we let the rats took him and solve the same problem we had

Man, I've seen several comments like this lately. Have I become the board contrarian without realizing it.

i am sure every coach in every round is fighting for a player. i wouldnt read to much into it. he got a nasty player in vince williams so i am sure he is happy about that

If anyone is to blame for this class...it's Colbert or the Rooney's! Bottom line is they have the final veto power for or against the player(s) selected even though they lean on the input from Tomlin, Lebeau, Haley and other coaches! Within our division, we came out barely ahead of the Browns and certainly behind both the Ravens and the Bengals IMO!!!

I'm hoping he really turns into something special, we have no more nasty on this team, maybe he will fill the roll.

i dont think that at all. the ravens reached for several players. i like elam and simon. what did the bengals do that was so special. they done the same thing we did. they took a rb in the 2nd that they could have got later. hunt was the only pick i liked of theirs

I liked (or hated, depending on how you look at it) the Bungles pick of Eifert. Hated to see him go the Bungles.

eifert is a good player i am not saying he aint but jarvis is better and fills a need. i think the titans hit a homerun with warmack but i dont like their draft as much as ours overall

As usual, there is a lot of misplaced Raven/Ozzie envy going on around here.

The Ravens had 3 solid picks:
    Elam
    Brown
    Simon

And we had 4 solid picks:
    Jarvis
    Bell
    Wheaton
    Shamarko

I don't see how they killed us in the draft at all.

whats butler upset about he got 2 draft picks and rolle to work with.

jones was a good pick. what happens after 2015 if we lose ben?

hawthorne was a good pick that needs some coaching.

shamarko and hawthorne added speed to the defense.

    we added 2 wr's, 1 big ,1 fast.

we added two rb's today. 1 draft ,1 FA.

we shored up the return game. LSH and wheaton.

we put some depth on the D-line.

we added guys for sacks and turnovers on defense.

we shored up the offensive skill positions.

the o-line got neglected and thats one place they weren't done yet. i hope and pray it wasen't to bring starks back. does it mean malecki now makes the team as the BU center? does long make it as the 4th Tackle? does cheadle stay as Guard depth? did we really need another wr late? where will he fit? all to be determined.

It does seem like they target players we have an interest in. Of course I would follow the Steelers lead too if I were trying to build a team.

They better keep him happy or he will not stick around much longer if Lebeau decides to coach another year.

Seems from Haley's comments they wanted a feature back to start on day one and didn't rate anyone they'd get in the 3rd or later as one. They went for a power back with great hands, if he does start and become that back, it's a very good pick.

No doubt we need a feature back, but we could have had Arthur Brown with our second pick then in the 4th round
draft our rb. I believe there was still good quality @rb position still. Oh well lets see how it plays out.
