True for the games vs KC in week 17,but overall on the year, they were 28th in yards, 22nd in PPG, and it was a defense that lived or died by turnovers... They got worse and worse as the season progressed.

In the playoff game against the Steelers, their weakness was exposed by giving up four TDs on four straight drives at one point before the steelers become conservative for the rest of the game when the game was in the pocket.

Ahhh....no need to spend that. Most people that spend mucho dinero on clubs are living in the fantasy world that they can play well enough for the club's supposed features to matter.

For most weekend golf hobbyists, inexpensive clubs are more than enough to get by. I think I paid $60 for everything in my bag. I've hit with my friends expensive ones....I am so bad that it doesn't make a difference.

Skiing replaced golf as my expensive hobby and it's one of the best life choices I've made. I always feel great after skiing for 3-4 hours. Was always pissed off after a round of golf. Yeah, I can only ski 3 months a year, but it's actually less money in the long run. My blood pressure and overall mental health are much better now, since I quit golf. :lolol:

    Sounds great.

Golf is still cheap for me. Mostly play inexpensive municipal courses with old used clubs. Mostly an excuse to get out and have a cold beverage with some friends and not be responsible for anything for a few hours.

Keep the blood pressure low by just assuming I am going to take the maximum strokes on every hole.

I don't know. Being left-handed I don't get to swing out of somebody else's bag that often. But a couple of years back there was a fellow southpaw in the group with a TaylorMade driver he let me try it out. The left turn my ball took about 50 yards off the tee was a good 15 degrees sharper than normal, and I put it about 15-20 yards further into the woods.

    I was impressed.

I got my clubs at a thrift store. I saw a bag of clubs sitting in the corner collecting dust with no price tag on it. I asked the lady at the counter how much they were and she said they have been sitting there for a while so just take them for nothing.

I played golf through high school and college, quit for a few years post-college and then started back in 2007. I bought a cheap $300 new set of Adams Tight Lies and played the best golf of my life in '07-'08. I "upgraded" to a Nike Iron set, fairway woods and driver... and was never the same. Also dabbled with Ping, Taylor Made and other "prestigious" brands of clubs. Expensive clubs don't mean squat. It's all in the swing and consistency with chipping and putting. I never could be consistent with tee shots, chipping and putting.... so I burned out by 2011. Golf is a fun game... if you're good at it. I totally get the attraction to golf. But I never could get over that hump to consistency.

That's my golf sob story for the day. :icon mrgreen:

That's how I feel about Guitars. I've played 200 dollar Guitars that I would rather play over 1000 dollar Guitars any day, although I have never played any 5, or 6 thousand dollar Guitars, so I don't know about them.

Heck yeah. I play bass.... and I have Indonesian-made G&L Tribute Precision and Jazz bass that are better than MIM and MIA Fenders. I have 3 MIM Fenders and the G&L's blow them out of the water in overall quality. CNC technology/factories can create amazing quality musical instruments... that wasn't around when I started out in the 80's. I started on a Westone 4-string bass... and that thing had 1/2" action, had caluses on fretting fingers the size of dimes, etc. Now I can get a totally gig-worthy Ibanez Talman for $200 new that blows the 80's Westone out of the water.

I'm more of collector now, than a player... but still enjoy it. Been collecting since 2004 and I have 19 basses!

Exactly. I have a old Mexican fender bass I picked up for about 150 bucks about 20 years ago, it's the only bass I own, but I started out on a Sears acoustic guitar, and My 1st electric was a brand new Kramer Striker in 85. LoL. It had one volume knobs, and one humbucker set at an angle. I Loved that Guitar. LoL
Now I play anything that I can set up easily, and that feels right.

Thanks to YouTube and other DIY videos starting back in 00's, I've learned how to set up my basses and guitars. I can't do electronic and fret work yet.... but I can do basic stuff like bridge/saddle height, neck relief, replacing/ugrading bridges, tuners, Hipshot Xtenders, etc. Hell... it's very seldom that electronics/pickups need work and frets too because of the technological advancements in guitar production.

I learned from a Luther, and from working in a music store back in the day.
