Hopefully after another week or so we'll never have to hear his name again.

    Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Jets had granted Tim Tebow permission this off-season to seek a trade. More than one team asked if were willing to play TE, but he was not.

Way to shoot yourself in the foot there timmy

I honestly don't understand why he doesn't just go to Jacksonville. He's a beloved legend in that state and that franchise DESPERATELY needs someone that can put butts in seats. Seems like a match made in heaven to me.

The Jacksonville GM made it abundantly clear that Tebow was not welcome there.

I get really sick of the media hype, but I don't blame Tim for it. Guys like T.O. and Brett Favre begged for media attention and it made me really despise him, but Tim is just a polarizing figure. I don't understand the hate by NFL fans. People preach about wanting high character guys all the time, and he's LITERALLY a choir boy.

The fact that he didn't lose his freakin mind and go off in New York is a testament to his character. He was traded there to a place that's already a circus, and for whatever reason rode the bench all year behind the terrible Sanchez and McElroy. Why did they even trade for him? You can say all you want about his mechanics and whatnot, but you can't tell me after seeing what he did in Denver, that he wouldn't have had a better shot at winning some games than Sanchez and McElroy. NFL veterans RALLIED around this kid in Denver... They loved his work ethic, and the way he carried himself... Why would you not want someone like that in your locker room?

I don't think Tebow could ever be a franchise, superbowl winning quarterback because of the flaws in his throwing motion and accuracy issues... but he could absolutely be a temporary option for a bad team... Or a great offensive role player/backup for a good team like New England, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, San Fran, etc.

Steelers fans don't want to give him any props because we were on the losing end but Tebow looked pretty damn good in that playoff game to me. We probably underestimated him a little too much, but he made plays. I would sign Tebow in a heartbeat as a fullback (where I think he could thrive with his competitiveness and size) and emergency QB option. I know that will never happen and this thread will turn into a bash-fest but I just don't understand it.

Yeah and I just don't understand it from a business standpoint. I think Jacksonville has the most blacked out games in the league don't they? If Tebow were there they wouldn't hold that distinction. People are fascinated by him for whatever reason. For me it's just that I'm interested to see what crazy thing he's gonna do to beat a team. I know he's a true professional but I always felt like I was watching an 80s movie where the class clown becomes the hero through some ridiculous circumstance. For me that's the fun of watching Tebow. Except when we are on the losing end of course. I loved watching him beat the Jets on that Thursday Night Football game a couple of years ago. Rex Ryan didn't know what hit him.

IMO he's nothing more than a novelty act whose schtick will wear thin quickly no matter where he goes. If Jacksonville wants to fill the stands they're much better off fielding a quality team and winning.

There was an analyst (can't remember who) the week of the 2010 draft telling Tebow that he should be a TE, not a QB in the NFL. He was saying that he was doomed in the NFL as a QB, but would have a great career as a TE. Tebow said he'd never do that. It was QB or nothing. I read that teams were considering a trade for him over the past month if he'd switch to TE, but he still won't.

The most embarrassing Steelers loss I have ever witnessed. The others are all vying for a distant second place: 1979 vs Cincy, 1995 vs Jax, 1999 vs Cleveland, and 2002 vs Houston.

thank god I don't follow the CFL aka Crappy Football League, but if this guy does come up here it'll be all over the news when Montreal plays in Toronto:kapow:

too bad he doesn't want to make the switch to TE, it'll be another Kordell type of story "what could've been?!?"

I don't get the Tebow hate either (not including Steeler fans), it's not his fault the media fawns all over him, the guy just wants to play football.

@TTF, funny you mention that because as soon as I heard he was released I thought he should just switch positions, probably make a pretty good TE. I can understand why he won't though, would piss me off too if everyone was telling me I can't achieve something. Best thing for him would probably be to go to CFL, work on correcting his throwing motion while gaining valuable playing experience and then give the NFL another go.

I don't hate Tebow, I just hate that we got bounced by a guy who is clearly not an NFL-caliber QB.

Ditto, You'd have to live in that area to get a feeling for the way NFL is compared to College. Also, since it's smack in the middle of the Bible belt, they'd come and watch him crash and burn, then go away and you're right back where you started.

The switch up in offense that they pulled on the Steelers in that play-off game only works once and Elway knew that.

Thank Ike Taylor for that loss against Denver. How could a top notch CB like he thinks he is get lost on that floater? :hmmm:

Tebow, as is stated, is not an NFL caliber QB. Teams have an interest in MR. College to come in as a tight end. He has refused. Again and again.

Hope you can learn the lyrics to O' Canada Timmy, unlike learning a real throwing motion. The circus for an unproven player is over. And all that Tebowing crap, really? What a joke! Made me sick all the bandwagoners... Where are you now? And for any Steeler fan to say they wanted him, really? The distraction will head North. Or be done...

Another note, How appropriate that Denver was beaten on a crap throw that their DB totally mis-played at Home!

I would blame Mundy more than Ike. The morning after they were reviewing that play along with other blown assignments by the Steelers. THe commentator broke down that play showing that Mundy was supposed to fake a blitz and then drop back into coverage underneath. IF he had done so the receiver would have been double covered, but Mundy was late on his fake and never made it into coverage. The rest as they say is a total effing nightmare.

Look I don't think TT is an NFL QB either, but before he gets ripped for not wanting to play another position, consider how he looks at it. The last season he started, he took a 1-4 team and went 7-4 with them and took them to the playoffs. The last game he started he threw for 300yds vs the #1 D in the NFL and had a playoff upset. After that you wanna tell me I can't QB in this league???

He looks terrible when he's back to pass, his stats are less than avg a lot of the time, all too true. But he wins, and as so many post here about Big Ben, forget the stats and just win. Can Tebow keep it up? I doubt it, but I don't see why he doesn't derserve a chance to prove us all wrong.

What you said is true to an extent;however, it's a team game. The Broncos weren't exactly a scoring machine with Tebow at QB. Their defense was keeping them in close games and offensively they did just enough to pull out a win. In several of those close games it took a comedy of errors for that to happen. For example, in the Chicago game their #1 running back simply has to stay in bounds the clock runs out and it's game over. Instead he runs out of bounds and stops the clock, they punt and prader(sp?) kicks a 63 yard field goal. That is no way to win consistently and that crap happened repeatedly. The Denver defense was solid and more than likely they would have won the same amount of games if not more without timmy under center. Regardign beating the #1 defense. What they saw in that game was a shell of the #1 defense. No Keisel,Clark, Hampton, an injured Woodley, injured Troy P. To say they beat the #1 defense is just being dishonest.

If he wants to play in the NFL then he will have to swallow his pride and take the route of Randle El, Crouch etc and switch to a position that suits his athletic ability.
