It didn’t matter before the new rules either. Once the ball has traveled 10 yards it’s a live ball

    Monumentally stupid on Kaleb's part.
but again, it is just a small part of what's wrong with the Steelers.

We are going to get creamed next pregame show.

It was bad for Kaleb Williams but before we waterboard and torture him, there were a lot of other mistakes that also lead to the Steelers losing yesterday.

But, Kaleb is going to need to see a sports psychologist at this rate.

Fumbled kickoff Week 1, had one run for negative 4 yards

    Didn't field a kickoff week 2.

Even Chris Rainey is saying dang this guy makes me look good.

Exotic dancers? Where will this creaming be happening. Is it a group event or can I request a private creaming?

Well yeah. I think he was asking about if the ball went into the endzone. From the beginning of football until 2018 it was a live ball. Then for around 5 seasons the returner could elect to just let the ball land in the endzone or bounce in and not have to down the ball. Under the new kickoff rules it's back to being a live ball in the endzone.

That's what I said. It's a live ball. Simply no excuse, especially after he touched it. At least Barry didn't touch it.

The first problem was that he did not catch the ball

Something seemed off with Kaleb Johnson even before this. Somehow he went from stud RB with some decent reports at camp to seemingly having zero confidence. Is he totally intimidated by the NFL, the coaching/camp tore him down too much and he gave up, or is he totally satisfied that he is already a millionaire? He might need to be redshirted and built back up mentally somehow.

In addition to your list, he got rocked a few times on preseason kick returns.

I don't think he did, either, but I missed that at the time.

The one run in the opener was a two-yard loss, not four.

They definitely need to remove him from kickoff returns. The ball keeps finding him and it is not going well.

He touched the ball. How many times has he been taught this since JHS??
That would be like setting up time to practice catch the ball when it is thrown to you. LoL

I don't want to get too hard on him... he is young, and he definitely knows the rules now.

He is lucky he will get a second chance, given where he was drafted. If he was a 7th round pick or UDFA I could see him getting cut.

Kaleb looks like he suffers from low confidence, and doesn't seem like he really likes/is comfortable with returning kicks. I wonder if there is a different role they could carve out for him where he could get some reps?

Yeah Foster treated it like a punt and just stayed away from the ball. He didn't know it was a live ball on a kickoff. Johnson had the ball bounce off of him,
It's like telling Boswell before a FG attempt "Now remember the ball has to go through the goal posts!"

Well, Kaleb Johnson is a third-round rookie pick I doubt he's a millionaire .

I was listening to Mark Kaboly last week, he was saying Kaleb Johnson seems like a shell of himself from the guy he saw at the beginning of training camp.
He basically said it doesn't even seem like it's the same guy.

Thus far from Pre-season games and now the games the count. We have all been very unimpressed.

I see no burst from him at all. Supposedly that what is once was talked up was his burst.

I admit I don't watch Iowa football. But i went and watched replays of a couple of his games from last year. Especially the one against Ohio St, he looked just like he looks now. He didn't break any tackles and didn't look special at all.
