Not sure this is a game to compliment anyone on defense for the whole game.

Watt and Ramsey made some nice plays but this D looked terrible today.

Not a flawless game by Watt but at least he made some plays out there unlike the rest of the defense exception the truck Ramsey

What scribe said is true. But the rest of the defense failed miserably.

Only gave up 182 yards on the ground

The highest paid  What a joke.

"Historic Things" Bags Tomlin... in a negative direction?

But alas it looks like we have an offense!

Could somebody tell me where our ILB's were when we were getting gashed in the run game.
Did you ever see them or here their name called the entire game?

They each made a couple of plays, but for the most part. Queen and Wilson were terrible. Queen repeatedly fell for Hall's stutter step instead of just attacking him and making sure he didn't get to the edge. Both linebacker were constantly getting caught going the wrong way on those inside runs, taking themselves out of the play. That was often why there were such huge holes in the defense. They need a thumper inside. Maybe they need to put Holcomb in there.

I'm surprised they went back to that play after Watt blew fields up earlier in the game when he didn't even have the ball.... I actually jumped out of my seat on that one and was surprised Fields got back up

You would like to see him get some sacks, but he did have two TFLs and a pass defended. And this great hit

He was better than most on D Sunday but we will need more from him certainly.

Help me out; exactly how many snaps did Watt have away from his 'natural' right side of the offense?

All this preseason talk and it's same old Watt.

Enough to know when he left the right side nobody was get any pass rush over there.
I don't understand the whole fascination with moving Watt all over. We have never had the need to do anyone else before, they played their side, or dropped into coverage, but for some strange reason now that we don't have someone helping out on the other side regularly, now people want Watt all over.
No matter where you move Watt, wherever he's not, will be the weak point.
How about getting more production out of the others instead.

    Are
The point is to scheme Watt to the weak point of the OL. Are you suggesting it's always on the right side and nowhere else?

I know this is (and should be) legal, but I was waiting for the James Harrison special on this one (flag for hitting too hard).

I'm suggesting either drop him into coverage, or let him stay at the right. Like we have always run the Steelers D back to 1992. Lloyd had Green, Porter had Haggans, Harrison had Woodley. They all helped each other, and every time we were good enough to make the SB both, had double digit sacks, only Haggans didn't, but He had like 9 , and only played 12 , or so games. Problem is now, we don't have the other guy. Highsmith hasn't shown to be it. He had one good year, and that's it. If Watt had a guy across from him like the others I mentioned, You would really see this D go.
Most teams aren't stupid. If You move Watt they just point, and slide the protection.

Then I have to ask the question; why did the team or Watt even bring up the subject in the offseason?

"Early last season, Watt seemingly had Defensive Player of the Year in the bag. That campaign started to dim down the stretch, with Watt failing to record a sack in his final four games, including playoffs.

Watt hopes a new approach might remedy that.

“It’s about trying new things and moving around,” Watt said.
“I’m sure you guys will see a good amount of that.”

While his rather static alignment may have contributed to his lack of success late in the year, the typical bumps and bruises throughout the season and Watt’s advancing age might have played their part too. Whatever the cause, Watt seems to believe that mixing in some variety in his alignment duties will help in 2025.

He expects to move around more this year, starting in training camp.

“That’s something that this time of year is perfect for, to move around, to get comfortable,” Watt told the media when the Steelers reported to camp on Wednesday. “It’s not about winning every rep and having to be on the left side and having to get everything mastered (on that side).”
