Well well well, looks like you're up;) Now I did my part and swept the Phillies in the Burgh so I'm counting on you to keep up your end of the bargain:)

I'd love helping the Padres. The NLW is a close race.

The Bucs have called rhp Cam Sanders and of Ryan Kreidler up from Indianapolis.
I don’t know why they call the bad ones up but leave good ones down there. Maybe they are giving them a last look before they release them.
This has to have a bad effect on guys like Hunter Barco, to see players who have not done as well as you have get the call before you.
Kreidler is an especially awful addition. He must have a good glove, as he has never even sniffed the Mendoza Line. He has been around long enough for us to know what he is.

If he's hitting below the mendoza line then he fits the roster.

Rollers, here is everything you need to know about Ryan Kreidler. Why they brought up another futility player who can’t hit I have no idea. Played parts of 4 seasons of MLB. 162 game average is -1.7 WAR. Ugh.
He plays SS and also the OF, so he is versatile enough to apply suction to equine testes at multiple positions, a quality the Pirates seem to value.

Bucs likely 3rd Cy Young winner along with Vernon Law and (my buddy) Doug Drabek for whom I autographed and presented my scorecard to him that year at the hotel bar in Frisco after he pitched a complete game win and hit a HR at old Candlestick. I'm sure that's how he won the CY holding on to my scorecard all season for good luck.

Friggin' Dodgers blacked me out 250 miles away. You have to have Comcast or some cable company. Sucks. Even happened when I had DTV MLB package. Only team that does that in all of baseball that I know of. Sirius radio for me with Block (head).

The Pirates, with tonight’s win, ensure that they will not lose 100 games. I guess that is progress.

You missed a good one. Damn Pirates sure had the pitching this year.

You are doing a great job. Now win tonight and our Bucs will have swept 3 big money teams in the Burgh.

Trying to help you Padres but you are playing like the Pirates. 2-8 last 10.

Now now now Steel, let’s give credit where credit is due! Pirates are 7-3 in their last ten. And Don Kelly has them at about a .500 winning percentage since he took over.
Now if they would release Canario and Holderman and give two guys from Indy some playing time, it could be progress.
Maybe they turn out to be AAAA players, but maybe they stick. You just don’t know until you know. I have no idea why the Pirates seem reluctant to make moves like that. What’s the worst that could happen? Maybe they would be in last place?

Always fun to compare after winning first 2 games of a series.............

    "For the 2025 season,
the Los Angeles Dodgers have a projected payroll of around $303.5 million to $354.8 million, depending on the source and including deferred payments and player benefits, while the Pittsburgh Pirates' projected payroll is significantly lower, around $83.8 million to $90.2 million, with a large portion attributed to deferred payments on their active roster.."

Bucs = 25% of Dodgers payroll. Just think if this had been a 3 game playoff series, it would be over already.

Pirates swept the Dodgers and have won 12 of their last 20. Skenes pitches six scoreless and gets his tenth win. Nick Yorke hit a two run double.
I will take that any day of the week.
With a little roster laundering they could be decent.
I bet this sticks in the craw of the Dodgers’ ownership. I think their payroll is four times that of the Pirates. Will heads roll?

Dodgers might have to pay a luxury tax that's higher than the Bucs total payroll! That said, extremely pleased to see the improvement since the trade deadline. Wish they would have made some of these recent roster moves sooner, (Devanney, Yorke, Chandler) but glad to see them made regardless.

I think, barring a huge collapse, that Skenes wrapped up the Cy Young tonight.

Hope they don't mandate mass drug testing after sweeping the Dodgers!!
