I would never say a guy who build that franchise to the financial behemoth it is to be dumb, but the reverse side of that is refusing to get out of the way of your own ego. Someone claimed on FSR this morning that the'boys have actually had the most Pro Bowlers the last decade (have no idea if its fact, and of course the PB is not as notable as the past), but the lack of production for all that success is mind blowing. The CAP dictates what you can spend, the league has rules on how contracts are negotiated and thats with an agent. If he wanted Parsons, do it the right way and get it done, if you were going to trade him do it at a time to get the most leverage from other teams...before the draft and when the CAP money is fresh lol. Jerry is going to be Jerry, but this Jerry is lost in his own la a land.

    I agree.

Jerry's ego lost him Micah Parsons. It could also be that very same level of ego may potentially give him his answer at QB in 2026. That said, never mind the conclusion of the 2025 CFB Season, Dallas' season is also yet to begin anyhow; same goes for College Football. Who knows what the 2026 NFL Draft is going to look like; the Cowboys record no less.

Dallas having a losing season is very much likely at this point. How much will they lose will remain anyone's guess. Going to have to wait and see.

All I know is Pittsburghs search for the one just got even harder.

The search is never easy, and with (from what I remember) 3 teams in the hunt that have 2 extra first rounders it really is going to be an interesting draft in the 'burgh.

I am not familiar enough with the details of that trade to really know, but generally individual stats on that type of trade would not be affected by the teams production in w/l. Certainly Pickens value may increase to us for a variety of reasons, injuries, etc. But their lousy D may actually increase his personal stats as he might get more opportunity to catch the ball. Kind of the reverse affect we desire lol.

Makes me wonder what we could have gotten for Watt.

Considering the 4 year age difference I’m going with a third round pick

Dallas with Parsons was a border line playoff team, they would've been like the Bengals led by their offense.

Not two firsts and a player Watt is five years older than Parsons.

I don't have a problem with it because those two first round picks they gave up won't be top 10, Love is a much better QB than Trubisky was.

Yes, they do, and pass rush was their biggest weakness.

No, you think they overpaid. Nobody knows that for certain right now. If he is healthy and dominant, which is a very realistic possibility, they did not pay too much.

    Demarcus Ware 138.5
Charles Haley 100.5 (had a knack of making big plays in big games..)
    LT 132.5

What kind of stats would players like Haley, Taylor, Bruce Smith, Reggie White, have had if they were playing now with qbs routinely throwing 30+ times a game?

Agreed. He is great but they sure put alot of money into 1 guy. That's a huge investment given how much cap it could use up for the future. Guess will see how that investment pans out. It really shows how much of a grifter Jerry Jones is. I also think of TJ Watt and how much he is being paid compared to how effective he is when they double him or sometimes triple him. They basically can take him out of the game.

You don't spend two 1st round, a 3rd round, and a 6th round pick, plus all that money for a playoff game. LoL

Not really. I Love how people come up with new stats to try and make a point.
Dallas was 31 in the league in points allowed(only one team, the Panthers gave up more points), and they gave up the 5th most yards.... Doesn't sound like best D to me.
Funny stuff making up new stats.

    You missed my point

What I was quitting sounded very similar to with and without T J Watt

But it's not. You are missing my point. Their D is not good with, or without Parsons. Don't let that new stat fool you. He only missed 4 games. Yet Dallas gave up the 2nd most points, and the 5th most yards on the whole year. TJ Watt missed 6, or 7 games in 2022, and our D was still top 10.

One pass rusher can't guarantee a Super Bowl. He made a huge impact. That they couldn't get the other pieces in order doesn't change that.

Then spending 2 first round picks, a 3rd round, a sixth round, and putting your team in bad cap situation for anything less than a SB appearance is stupid. You can stay away from a SB appearance for free.

I know Parsons is a monster, but two first round picks and a monster contract…..

It’ll be interesting to see how the packers do these next few years.
