You questioned Kahn giving a low ball offer

Isn’t Jacksonville paying his salary minus what anyone offers therefore just like Wilson last year the Steelers would only need to offer vet minimum

Therefore it would be impossible to low ball him

And 4 other teams passed on the same deal

    He is injured

Maybe you should think for yourself rather than quoting every wannabe pundit and clickbait article

Never mind do what you do

You are right everyone is going to be offering the standard 1 year league minimum contract, so there is no reason for Gabe to sign early with a team if he is still rehabbing. Hell If I was Gabe I would wait until the middle of the season and sign with a team that has their eyes on the Super Bowl. No reason to sign early and be wasted on a team that has no shot if you are playing for league minimum.

The $11M guarantee for Davis is subject to offset language, meaning the final cost for Jacksonville will be reduced by the amount Davis is able to earn elsewhere in 2025. He's likely to latch on with a new team at a league minimum $1.17M.

    He is injured

He needs to prove he can play

The longer he doesn’t play the lower the chance he will ever play

He is not in the drivers seat he isn’t even on the bus and if he gets invited to get on he will be at the back of the bus

Every day of camp he misses his chances go down

No team will even consider him at the middle of the season

No "Healthy" team will sign him. This is the NFL and players get hurt, and teams have to scramble to fill their positions.

Believing that no team will be desperate to sign a veteran WR in the middle of a season to fill in for an injured starter is just wrong!!!

I could see Gabe Davis signing and Robert Woods being released.
There's 7 years difference. Woods being 33 (past prime) so the Steelers get younger.
Production? Maybe a wash. Both started in Buffalo and neither really set the world on fire.
I could give Davis the edge due to age. Jacksonville didn't really fit him... that might bode well for a return to Buffalo.
Gabe is 6'2" 225 lbs, Woods is slightly smaller... Pittsburgh could use a bigger WR.

I only use Gabe and Woods because neither will play ST's. Pittsburgh might have a different idea.
It really all depends on that injury and how Davis has healed. Pittsburgh will know since he was already here.

I don’t think Gabe Davis is any better than Scotty Miller honestly. He doesn’t move the needle he didn’t do crap in Jacksonville.

His trip here the other day was purely a visit as a “medical follow-up” as the team had “medical concerns” after Davis’ previous visit.

If he is healthy Buffalo would have the upper hand if they want him

Steelers are not going to sign Gabe… twice been here…twice been shown the door.
Something medical going on. His YAC is amongst the worst in the league.
On the other hand, his YPC ranks near the top of the league.

Unless I am missing something, there really is no negotiation for money as he is being paid and the vet minimum (like Wilson last year) is what he would sign for. A blurb showed up on my timeline "Steelers lose Gabe to Bills", how? They (and other teams) interviewed him at one time, did it again after further rehab. They either said no thanks, or he said if you are interested call again in 2 days. While its unlikely he would pass on an opportunity if presented, if the interest is there it is his option to do what is best for him.

Is amari cooper really that washed up? Seems like an easy signing for someone short at wr. Can't imagine he'd cost much of anything at this point.

He's a 200-300 yard WR at this point in his career. The Steelers already have those in the room.

That’s bs. You could very easily follow the journalists that actually cover the Steelers. The local guys that actually attend camp, are in the locker room after practice and games. The people that actually develop relationships with the players and coaches.
