If you don't think Khan played the comp game to use those picks to go get a QB next year, then I don't know what to tell you .

Well it fits a pattern, we certainly have profited greatly bringing in the Bears former number 1 Qb picks the last few years.

I don't think the colts trade up for Richardson in 2023...They had the fourth overall pick at the start of the draft. It was the panthers who trade up to have the first pick overall for Bryce Young that year

But I understand your point for the rest!

The 4-7 round picks aren’t worth a hill of beans towards trading up. The only extra pick we have worth anything is a 3rd from the Pickens trade. I hate to break it to you, but it’s going to take a whole lot more than that 3rd. The rest are speculation about comp picks. We don’t actually have them yet nor do we know what round. Again, it’s speculation that we will get a 3rd. Lastly you’re the only person guaranteeing anything. So if there is anyone eating crow it will be you.

I think fans are projecting on what they want the team to do and trying to will it into existence.

I wouldn’t be remotely surprised if the Steelers don’t take a QB next draft.

Thanks captain obvious those extra comp picks will be needed to fill out their roster not for trading up, they will likely trade their first and second round pick in 2026 to move up and maybe a pick in 2027. They will have three third round picks their own and one from Dan Moore leaving in FA along with the Pickens trade.

I guess the local media is wrong too because they have talking about it since the Steelers ended up with 12 picks.

They’re just speculating! Why are these concepts so hard for you to grasp? It’s no different than the draft itself. Every year fans and the media speculate who will go when and where. Every single year the vast majority of it is wrong.

They’re speculating, it’s what writers do.

    You’re guaranteeing.

I think the odds that the Steelers draft a QB in the first round next year are above average - and, if a guy they really like is there, I hope they can figure out a way to get him - but, to suggest that it's a 100% certainty is going deep into Coo-Coo for Coco Puffs territory.

Nothing in life - and certainly nothing in the NFL - is ever, ever, ever certain, save for death, taxes, and non-losing seasons under Tomlin.

For the Steelers to not draft a QB in the first round of 2026, one of 4 scenarios needs to happen

    1. Rodgers has a very good 2025 season and decides to return next year
    2. Howard, for one reason or another, has more action than expected and he has a Brock Purdy-caliber rookie season, so the Steelers are very confident in him
    3. The Steelers sign or trade for a big-name QB in the 2026 offseason
    4. If the QB draft class isn't as deep or good as expected, which is the most likely scenario of these 4 scenarios

If none of these 4 scenarios occur, I would be very surprised if the Steelers don't draft a QB in the first round

Or we can trade our 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks to the Colts for Richardson. Can’t pass up that athleticism!

Seriously though, my personal view is that the front office is positioning itself to be able to take a Qb early, possibly even trading up if there’s a guy they really like. I’m OK with that if the front office is disciplined in its approach, and I believe it will be. I know that I will be very focused on college QBs this fall.

I said all thread long that I would be very surprised if the steelers don't draft a QB in the first round...I would also be very surprised if one of the 4 scenarios happens too.My point was that one of the four scenarios needs to happen so that the Steelers don't draft a QB in the first round.

The Steelers already had scouts at Arizona State recently for Fall camp checking out QB Sam Leavitt

My biggest concern is some of the good Junior QBs decide to return to school for 2026, we need a loaded QB draft like 2024 to be able to get our guy,

I'm sure they checked out WR Jordyn Tyson, but their QB is the best prospect.

For the umpteenth time. I don't believe anyone is say they for freaking sure won't draft a Qb, what we are saying is nothing is for freaking sure. I can state for the last 5 years how wrong the media, and reporters have been on who, when, and where a player will go. Small Example: Everyone just knew S. Sanders would not only be taken in the 1st round, but that he would be the 1st Qb taken......How did that turn out??? Neither came to pass.

Exactly. So for all you know they were there to check out a wide receiver.
