I don’t think I could ever stop watching though. Growing up it was a part of life and family bond. My excitement level has been very low for sometime now though as I’m sure most can tell from my posts.

Sadly it isn’t just a game, it’s an entertainment industry run by Billionaire Owners who just can’t get enough money!

Sadly it’s about Super-Talented Athletes, the top 1% of the top 1% of the top 1% doing things we wish we could, love seeing and if you play fantasy or bet They determine how your next week goes!!!

Living in NC and the cheap seats for the greenbay game being 500$ each for me and my wife to travel, eat, stay the night and eat & Travel back is 1500-2000$ and while I can swing that it just isn’t worth it…….. Heyward has been a warrior, played thru many injuries, been one of the most durable players, tied Mean Joe Green in All-Pro seasons and IS a Future HOF, and This Team forced him to take a pay cut on his last contract ….. facts , And when Heyward said When I make All-Pro next year I’m coming back to the Table They Laughed At Him!!… Fact ….That is pure disrespect and makes me feel a bit of shame for this Org. That I Love.

Heyward contract next year has Zero garuntees so he knows in reality if he isn’t Allpro this year he Will be cut next year in a “cap saving” move!!!!

Well they are setting a precedent now. this is what happens when you bring in guys from outside of the organization and pay them. I understand these guys want to be compensated fairly but then don’t complain about not winning a playoff game when we can’t fill out a competitive roster. I think it is selfish. With that being said they need him and he knows that. I would extend him another year and put a boat load of incentives in his contract and say we will pay you top 15 money with no gauruntees.

Reading that article. Steelers chose to go with a "pay as you go" route with Cam on a year to year basis in order to save salary cap hit last season. That contract extension was more team friendly than Cam friendly. that is a fact.

The stand off that is happening now is directly a result of the team wanting a RISK free extension past last season, and Cam playing better than market value for his contract.

Steelers took a risk thinking Cam would not be as good as he was last season, and that risk did not pay off for the steelers, and now we have a stand off. Cam is NOT scum like people here make him out to be and Cam is 100% in the right to ask for market value.

 

This is really insulting to the Steelers. What if he had a down year last year. Would he give money to the Steelers? We all know the answer to that. He signed the deal. The compensation is very fair especially at his age. If they raise his salary they should put a clause in there that they can recoup part of his salary if he underperforms below a certain benchmark or if he gets injured. Thats truly betting on yourself. Its disgusting as far as I am concerned. He has made more than enough money to setup multiple generations. When is it about winning and the team as opposed to self. Feel the same way about Watt as well.
