I don't car what someone makes. But I do care when they cry like heyward has. Due to be says he won't play unless he gets paid. And my thinking is how much does he want to be paid to play his heart out or is he going to half ass it?

I get it. The whole situation could easily have been avoided. I just don't immediately get bent when players want a fair share because I think the whole industry is oversaturated with revenue. But again, this could have been solved with PBIs being included in the pact both sides agreed to last year. If Heyward were to have had a terrible year last season, he'd still be collecting the same guaranteed dollars, and he knows it. So why didn't he or his agency push for contingencies on performance last summer?Between Rooney, Khan, Heyward, his agent, and other lawyers looking over the details, somebody should have raised this as a possible issue.

As much as I don't want to say it - because I think a lot of fans lazily throw shade at players for the money make, when non-players involved in the sport make just as much or more than most, and for longer, for putting their bodies through a lot less - this reads to me like Heyward and his agent secured the guaranteed money they wanted last year for a player of his quality and age, and are now pushing for a raise after he delivered an AP1 performance.

if so, I'm alright with him asking for a raise, but enough with the cryptic 'being taken for granted' social media posts and hold-ins that affect the rest of the team. You knew the risk from both sides going in. It's dirty pool to pull the disrespect card after turning in an all-pro season. JMO
