What is everyone’s thoughts on signing this guy?

I was against it initially because he really feel off last year but news is coming out he hurt his wrist and needed surgery but elected against it and still played. It supposedly really affected his performance. Before last year he was playing really well for Cleveland.

This is my pick for what the Steelers need. We have a Combat Catcher, and a burner, so we need a route runner.

Last year Amari put up 500+ yards on 2 different teams, and the 2 years before that he was over 1,000 yards each year.

Better than OBJ, who in the last 4 years has never put up more more than 600 yards.

And, I am not a fan of trading for Tyreek Hill as he brings nothing to the table that Calvin Austin can't do.

Did he get it fixed, and when did he get it fixed?

There could be a reason he has not signed just yet, like Gabe Davis, if he is still trying to heal.

I do not know. It could very well be the reason.

Just my opinion, which means very little, but I'd like to see what we got here 1st. I'm not entirely convinced we don't have what we already need yet.

Sure, if he wants to play for the vet minimum.

I may have to rethink my Tyreek Hill stand after watching All Steelers talk today, because they are talking about Tyreek Hill for Calvin Austin and a 3rd round pick.

To me this just all depends on how much Dead Cap the Dolphins are willilng to eat to get rid of Tyreek Hill.

I was against trading For Tyreek, because he offers nothing that Calvin Austin can't do, but Tyreek would be a definite improvement over Calvin Austin.

If you were to ask me this three years ago I would have been over the moon about it. Now, a bit too late in my opinion. I do agree though with @Brice@Brice that CA III could be on the move; something I vehemently disagree with given how much promise he showed last season.

    Overheard
"We're considering adding a WR in the next week or so."

Not sure how much weight that carries, but it makes sense.
My thoughts on Tyreek Hill is that I don't want to trade for a guy that's 30.
But the Steelers do need that 2WR and it is apparent.
I figure some WR will be odd man out near cut down time, and some teams do cut them early to allow them a chance to catch on elsewhere... so maybe something happens there.

Another Mike Williams. Cooper will catch an awesome TD pass and disappear for the rest of the season.

Maybe Cooper is not a option but he is a much better option that OBJ

Think Cooper being available is either injury related or wanting too much money.

Haven’t been following OBJ’s career closely but from the numbers he was pretty useless his last season. Don’t know if that was injury related or not.

I am sure that the money is the reason for Cooper...And yeah,OBJ is washed at this point. The backup QB in Miami was just awful last season but under 100 yards for almost the entire season?!

    You could be right.
I have no idea... can't see them trading for McLaurin and maybe not Hill.

Normally I'd be against trading for a 30 year old WR, but if we are going to do it... now is the time that makes the most sense. In 2026 we will likely be rolling a QB on a rookie contract, so we can afford to surround him with expensive weapons. Someone like Hill or McLaurin to pair with Metcalf would be perfect. We can spend 55+ million at WR when we're paying peanuts to the QB's.

Cooper is probably fine in a one year vacuum. I think OBJ is cooked and isn't worth the time. I'd rather target someone like Hill or McLaurin to either of them. If we were paying a QB, my tune would be different, but we have a real opportunity here. Might be worth a shot.

That was the name on several YT steeler related vids. From OBJ's words on a podcast, to the list of current players on the roster he has worked with, to Aaron recruiting him...how much is just conjecture...well it is YT, lol. What ever happens will happen, but like the recent years of aging vet WR signings, and the Jets attempts at pleasing Aaron with his choice of signings I have little faith it moves many mountains.

That actually makes sense, they will have to make decisions on various Omar draft picks in the next couple of years, but going into 26 and even 27 it looks like could handle it, getting that ammo for Aaron and then a couple rookie QB years would be legitimate.
