I dunno, I kinda think wokeness is in retreat and it's more likely - at least in the short term - that the NFL will choose to stake out a different, perhaps more traditional direction. But, maybe I'm just being a bit too naively optimistic.

Judging by the AI made reels across FB and TicToc, it seems like we're on the cusp of a new era of shock/roasting comedy. Unsure if this trend will creep into the sitcom realm again, but if so, that's a sign that wokeness is fading out.

I think we both can agree the game is evolving for sure for a litany of reasons. It will be interesting to see how technology impacts the game and the viewing experience. People are going to want a more intuitive and personal experience in the future.

Exactly you proved my point with the last sentence. When was the last time it was a marquee sporting event?

All the time. Just because you don't know it, or haven't heard of it, doesn't exclude it. The problem is most ......so called boxing fans.....were never boxing fans , they were fans of a couple of boxers. Hell most of the people will say.....I stopped watching after Tyson, when in all reality they only watched Tyson, and most only a few matches, but you , or those people aren't the world. I couldn't name a soccer player to save my life, and I never watch, does that mean that soccer is dead, and nobody watches it??? No. It means I don't watch it. Just like you don't watch boxing.

I used to watch boxing but that was 50 years ago

I didn’t intentionally quit watching so somehow it disappeared from my field of view

Quite frankly until this conversation came up I was under the assumption that other than maybe local youth rinks it had disappeared

You caused me to Google it in pittsburgh and although it’s mostly small local gyms in February there was actually a pretty good sized event in a fairly large facility

I’m going to pay attention and see if anything shows up

Mrs jeh would have no interest but I could talk my cronies into it

    How is lunch

I watch it all the time, and I go to local events also. ESPN shows it quite often, and it always full. I used to post events of it showing in the water cooler section of this board, but not many paid attention, but I don't pay attention when people post soccer stuff either......so
It same as always. Scarf down some food , and get on here. LoL

You are correct. I don’t watch it. I lost interest in it over the UFC. I haven’t been into it since Tyson. I am definitely a casual fan at best. But that’s my point it doesn’t seem to be mainstream anymore like it used to be back during Tysons prime. Back then you had a litany of Heavyweights that everyone seemingly knew about. I couldn’t name one Heavy Weight today nor could a lot of people who enjoyed watching it back during the Tyson days. That’s how you know it’s lost its popularity with the mainstream. People like you enjoy it for the sport itself. You’re obviously not a casual fan of it.

It certainly isn’t it like it used to be. Talking about crowds being full heck even arm wrestling and face slapping events are full that doesn’t mean they are mainstream. Who is the Heavy Weight Champion of the World by the way?
