Throw enough darts at the board and eventually you get a bullseye

I am saying just the opposite. I did not know Gainwell's spot was so much of a sure thing, that the Steelers would sit him, like a GTD Starter, and not have him on the field competing for a roster spot.

I thought Gainwell would be playing in the preseason games to make the roster, not given a spot like an established Steeler, or a high draft pick. Warren gets a spot on the 53 man roster, and the 3rd round pick Kaleb gets a spot; the 3rd active day RB spot I thought was going to be a shootout between everyone else.

I had all 5 of these guys competing for the 3rd RB slot, if Heyward is still on the roster as a FB.
    Kenneth Gainwell
    Trey Sermon
    Evan Hull
    Lew Nichols
    Max Hurleman

After the Jags game, I want to see a little more of Nichols and Hurleman, to see what they can do against better competition.

So you just showed two did it, so what's to say we couldn't?. Before we won a SB as a wildcard, everyone said we couldn't, because nobody has ever won a SB as a wildcard playoff team.
I'm sure glad we didn't listen to all those supposedly know it alls.

Hey Im the guy who sits in his seat until the last out because until then there is still a possibility

I don’t leave a Steelers game until the clock says 0:00

You do know they have 90 players they would like to look at, in only 3 preseason games. I'm sure they will feel bad that the ones they want a bigger look at , aren't the ones you do.

Lew Nichols led the nation in rushing in his last year at Toledo. He was on the Eagles practice squad when they won the Superbowl last year but it looks like he will lose out to the numbers game again this year.

Some teams win the super bowl as wild card before the 2005 steelers like the 2000 ravens,1997 Broncos and the 1980 raiders.....The 1985 patriots and 1992 Bills also make the super bowl as wild card

For the 2-6 start,I mentionned, the only realistic way to make the playoffs after such a bad start is if you are in a historic bad division like the 2020 commanders or the 2022 jaguars....The other was in the 1970,like 55 years ago

I don't think Gainwell is competing to be RB3, those other guys are competing for the practice squad.

I mean the last seed, or at the time 6th seed wildcard team.
No team before we did it in 2005 was the last seed, and won a SB, but as soon as we did it, like everything else in the world, once it's been done, it happens more than once.....the Giants turned around , and did it.

I agree it was unlikely(to win the super bowl) when they were at 7-5 and one game behind the chiefs and the chargers for the 6th seed and even before the playoffs,it was unlikely but I remember come playoffs time that I thought the steelers were much better than the 6th seed and played the best football at the best time and at the level of their 2004 season...Of course, I didn't expect to win in Indy!

Btw, you're right that you shouldn't give up on the season too early no matter what, since sometimes miracles can happen and my comments in the past that the Steelers should give up the season if they have a very bad start were wrong from me
