This was a very entertaining and quality game for a preseason game (I just saw the 12 minute highlight version on YouTube).

There was a play Rudolph held the ball forever and then took a sack instead of throwing it away that was BIG TIME dumb.

A 70 yard FG by the Jags!!! Wow! They struck gold with that kicker.

Yeah I think I counted 7 seconds. I think it would be rare to see any linemen being able to hold back defenders for that long haha

We could've used this type of play calling last year.

I'm not pointing any fingers, but people need to learn to understand that they can't call plays that the players can't do, or are not good at. This goes for Defense, or Offense. It's not magical that even on teams that the DC, OC, and HC have been on for awhile, change what they call by what players they have.

Nobody wanted to try this ???
These are things my Grandfather would ask me for fun, and all it involved was thinking about it....no special knowledge, no math, no learned knowledge, just thought. I remember a bunch of them.

Just realized Hurleman should be your favorite long shot player. If he was at his “natural position” he would be a cornerback

Watching the highlight clip is like watching a movie trailer. Your skipping all the dull 2 yard runs, incompletions, and dumb penalties. Oh, but you probably missed out on the cool e-measurement on a 3rd down run!

To be fair, I don't care if they cut Pierre. He serves little purpose outside of ST, and if he can get pushed out there by a player that has more upside as a CB/WR/S, etc. then so be it. Bishop is at least a prospect still. He had a quality season for us as an undrafted rookie (not perfect by any means, but he did exceptionally well for an UDFA) and now can learn a bit behind a former All Pro CB in Ramsey. I see no upside getting rid of him for the sake of "trying something new". We've "tried something new" every year for a half decade now.... We've seen Chandon Sullivan and Arthur Maulet the two years before Beanie take over that role. Before then we had to move Sutton there and play Levi Wallace and Ahkello Witherspoon outside because we didn't even have a viable slot corner (and Sutton played well there, but it took him away from the outside where he was our best outside CB). We gave Norwood a shot and that failed.... Idk. It's a position that we've sucked at for a while. Ramsey is going to be a welcome addition and it will be a lot more like it was when Gay and Hilton were our slot CB's in years past (and in a lot of ways better, because Ramsey is more versatile as a player than both of those guys).

I can understand just not liking a player for one reason or another, but Beanie Bishop is a starter or 2nd string slot CB on nearly every team on the league. There aren't enough good CB rooms around the league that a guy like him cant at least be a journeyman player. I hope he develops into a solid player that we can count on in the future but he's still young, and he's at least proven that he belongs on an NFL field.

They were calling it a coverage sack, but for his level of NFL experience, he needs to throw that away and move on.

At Notre Dame he played as a WR, CB, RB and punt return. He is very versatile and the Steelers favour players as you know that can play special teams and other positions similar to Connor Heyward. Personally I hope he makes it. Connor Heyward is just MEH for me but I suspect he is on the team because he plays TE and Special teams

Mason was waiting for the back Kaleb Johnson to slip into the slot and be the outlet receiver. Kaleb forgot his assignment and stayed in the pocket to block double teaming an end that was contained. Charlie Batch talked about it during the game. You can see Mason look to his right and there was no one there and he took the sack. If he threw it, it would be grounding. Charlie even mentioned that coaches will talk to Kaleb Johnson about that play. There is a reason why Kaleb Johnson is third string. The next play he dropped a pass that hit his hands for Mason's only incompletion. So far KJ has making of a bust.

Ok I know who he is. I just now realized who he was with that info. During the game I was sitting here wondering where we got him from, and if they said during the game, I totally missed it. Thank You.

It was a mess up by him, but a little too early for any bust talk. I mean his 1st preseason game as a rookie.

Pretty small sample to be talking about Johnson being a bust don't ya think?
