A friend of mine made pickled eggs, and it had peppers, cheese, sausages, carrots, celery, garlic, and onions pickled with it, and it was freaking delicious.

    Make sure you cook them

I heard and then researched raw lima beans contain a compound called linamarin, which turns into cyanide when consumed.

I always cook them well, but I've never heard that, but I have heard of other stuff that has similar properties if not well cooked.

It’s actually true. Raw Lima beans have a compound that turns into cyanide when consumed. Cooking them prevents that transformation.

I wonder how many people died before they figured that one out

I believe because of the way things are today, many food will harm you , and can carry Salmonella, and forms of E coli. So I pretty much cook everything . There was a time we only had to worry about certain things like Lima beans , or certain greens, but that is not today. Hell like fish , and seafood that is good for you, but now can be bad because of us poisoning our waters with lead, mercury, and other harmful stuff.

The threat from salmonella coming from eggs is because we wash the membrane off that naturally occurs to prevent such things. We refrigerate eggs because of that membrane being removed

UGH! My mom loved her some CC. She'd put fruit in it. As much as she tried to get me to eat it I couldn't get it passed my lips.

Right? Who looked at an oyster and said I’m going to crack it open and eat it? How long did it take to figure out these mushrooms taste good, these will kill you, and these will make you see pretty colors?

There is no food I don't eat. There are foods I like better than others, but nothing I don't eat.
