I believe this season depends on 4 players for us to truly succeed.

    1. Broderick Jones
    2. Roman Wilson
    3. Juan Thornhill
    4. Derek Harmon

The Defense is an all star caliber defense on paper. If Harmon and Thornhill can play up to their potential this Defense will have no weaknesses.

I have enough faith in the rest of the line and the rest of the receivers and TE’s and RB’s. The big question marks are Jone and Wilson. If they can develop I believe this can be the best offense we have had in a long time.

I would add Rodgers on this list....If he can turn back the clock a bit,the steelers ceilling will be much higher but if he ie washed,it will be a wild card exit by a blowout at best

If Jones and Fautanu do their jobs... Rodgers will be OK. Defense has more depth than offense. Obviously.

I have faith in Rodgers. I think he will play much better in Pittsburgh than he did in NY. The key is keeping him upright.

If the Oline blocks well by all accounts Johnson should do well. From what I hear Fautanu is doing really well against Watt in Camp.

AR will determine how this season turns out most likely. We need both tackles to play well though as they are unproven and AR is 42 years old and can’t move anymore. If they can’t protect him he will either get hurt or go into check down mode to avoid hits.

Exactly that’s why I think Jones is so important. I believe Fautanu will do really well.

Good list, but it goes beyond BJ - it is that WHOLE OL as a UNIT. They have to play at a better then avg. unit. Anything below average = another one and done AT BEST season. Miss the playoffs entirely at worst

AR needs a strong OL + a strong running game.

all of THAT will help the D!

Piggybacking off of @HeinzMustard@HeinzMustard for my most important four.

    1.) Broderick Jones

    2.) Kaleb Johnson

    3.) Mason McCormick

    4.) Troy Fautanu

If all four can match or even exceed expectations, this team does have a good shot in the Playoffs. If not?! Game over.

    No in between.

Scary thing is..... 2nd year OG McCormick has the most experience of the 4 listed. Jones hasn't played LT since Georgia. Johnson is a rookie... and Fautanu is pretty much a rookie since he hardly played last year.

    I agree with #s 1 and 4. I disagree with #s 2 and 3.

#2. This season does not hinge on the play of Roman Wilson at all. Wilson is at best your 4th reciever. Reading this board, there are people that seem to think Wilson is somehow going to break out and be this elite receiver. I just dont see it. He wasn't even that at Michigan. Personally I will be shocked if he catches 10 passes this year.

#3. I dont believe success lies at Juan Thornhill's feet either. The Steelers have brought in a bunch of alternative options at safety. I don't think Thornhill is going to be an every down player. Chuck Clark is going to eat up some early down snaps. His liability in coverage can be masked when Porter, Ramsey, and Slay are all in the game.

I agree with 1 and 4. If Jones sucks this year the Steelers are in trouble. The Steelers are banking on Harmon to be a day one star. If this happens the defense has a chance to be elite.

My 2 and 3 would be

    Troy Fauntanu and Aaron Rodgers

If you listen to the beat writers, AR still has all the arm talent in the world. So the key will be keeping his jersey clean and time to throw.

Certainly not him. If Steelers organization can’t figure out qb situation, I don’t think I can.
Until than I will root for Pornstachio!
