Saturday my neighbors are doing their annual ~100 person backyard party with tons of food, beverages and live music from a great classic rock cover band. I’ll be making about 10 lbs. of grilled Italian sausage with grilled peppers and onions - always a hit. As for what else is on the menu, who knows? My neighbor converted an outbuilding to a commercial grade kitchen and has an outdoor kitchen with a large grill, a massive flat top, a pizza oven and a two-basket deep fryer, so we could be eating just about anything (and everything). He makes sure all of those pieces of equipment are fully utilized for the party.

Do 100 people show up?? If so, no way everybody knows everybody or else you live in the tightest neighborhood in America.

That game is all I'm hearing about on the golf course. Needless to say the SB champ fans can't wait for tonight. Probably heard "go birds" around town about 100 times this week.

oh and for the game probably i'm going to try a chili dog bake. cut up dogs, homemade beef chili sauce, cheese. i figure you can eat it alone or put it on a bun like a sloppy joe/chili dog. my own evil making. :hehehe::smiley1::cool:

Hearing fly eagles fly or who Dey. Not sure which is worse. Philly is famous for their cheese steaks which are delicious and Cincy which is famous for their chili hot dogs which are garbage to me. Don’t care for either team. Hope eagles win 2-0. :bungals::smashbengals:

To please the Doc, perhaps rack of bone, sauteed hummingbird wings and a wholesome tossed paprika salad would do the trick. Then return to normalcy Monday night with Pizza, wings, fries and suds. :thumbs up:

When you say "making Italian sausage" do you mean making them from scratch or just grilling them? Either way sounds great to me. Last time I had a sausage making party I had bought sheep casings at the Valley Hungarian Sausage and Meat Company along Pearblossom Highway in the Mojave Desert town of Littlerock. They only sold it in a package of about 1000 linear ft. (or so it seemed). We started at about 8am and had about 6 different recipes (pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, veggie etc) that each group brought to the party. I supplied the casings, grinder and expeller (a converted HD Kitchen Aid mixer). It took all day long and we broke for a grilled sausage lunch and then dinner. It was a lot of work but lots of fun and adult humor for those feeding the mix and the holder and twister of the filled casings. We must have made about 15 dozen sausages which all turned out great.
