It is as I said from the beginning of this Offseason; Aaron Rodgers or not, this team will go as far as the Offensive Line goes. Should the Offensive Line gel quickly and become a Top 10 unit, the Steelers will get into the playoffs. Should they regress, you are looking at a 9-8 season with no playoffs. There is no in between here.

This all said, it is early in Training Camp; a QB who skipped both Minicamp and OTAs. It is going to take a bit longer for the overall consistency and timing aspects to be down pat before the Regular Season. In addition, four new faces along the Offensive Line themselves for 2025; a player in Broderick Jones who has a microscope on him more magnified than any other Steelers Player. Give it time.

Should such porous results continue long into the second preseason game?! That will bring up a different discussion.

It will probably take some time to get comfortable again on the left. Though, I do think it is encouraging that he has progressed throughout camp. Positive sign at least. We don't need him to be a stud, we just need him to be a quality starting level player. If he's an average pass blocker and a very good run blocker, then he's going to be a big improvement over Dan Moore.

Lets hope he builds some momentum by playing well in the preseason games. I cant wait for this weekend. Football *kinda* at last :)

But he does need to play in the preseason games

None of this 1 or 2 series and out

The entire OL needs the work

I agree but you know that ain’t happening. Pre season has become next to useless for first team players especially when they went to 3 games.

Rodgers certainly won't play in the pre season and now with Will Howard out for 3 weeks I wouldn't be surprised if the Steelers sign another QB for the next 3 weeks. I can't imagine Mason Rudolph and Skyler Thompson taking all of the pre season snaps.

I would imagine that they play him enough. Same with Fautanu and McCormick. They all need to get some reps, though, I could live with Frazier being a couple series and out for the PS. I think him and Seumalo have proven enough to be cautious with in the PS. The others still have to earn it.

I just hope the unit is able to stay healthy for the season. We have a couple solid back up OL in Scharping and McCollum, but overall our depth at the position is a bit meh.

After posting this I thought about Seumalo

I think Frazier needs to work with McCormick and snapping the ball

I mean, I doubt it becomes a major issue with the snaps. Yeah it sucks that he hit a dirt ball or two in camp, but for a guy that has snapped thousands of balls in his life, I doubt its a lingering issue to be too worried about. Its kinda an anomaly tbh. It happened a couple times early last season then never showed itself again....

I'd still be cautious with Frazier and Seumalo. Frazier is our best OL and Seumalo is an older vet. Jones still has plenty to prove and Fautanu and McCormick are entering their first full seasons as the starter. I'd expect them to get their work.

Beg to differ. Preseason is not useless. It's a chance for good or bubble players to get injured!
    :prayer:
