That really is all they can do, there was a vid on Howard throwing a 'dart'. A3 to 5 yard pass, lol. It was fine, nice throw kid, but some of the comments were laughable, 'our next franchise QB!'. I hope Howard has a good camp and preseason, I hope he shows enough against other scrubs that the team can feel good about future development. The draft next year will take care of itself, it is what you see this year that will determine the choices they make.

I'm hoping Brice was trying be to sarcastic, as in we take Bears 1st round QB busts by recent tradition. Reportedly the guy could not complete a call in the huddle several times and Ben Johnson was livid. How true is that camp statement, cant say as it came from Cowherd, 'nuff said. lol

I gave a pass to Williams for his rookie season last season since he had such a clueless head coach(who cost at least 2 games by himself) with a bad OC....But for this season,if he continue to struggle under Ben Johnson,it will be a huge red flag

The team can make a decent prospect lousy, but someone with the greatest skills who refuses coaching will show themselves eventually. Have no idea what if anything is going on with him or the bears, but it will be interesting to see if the bears landed a good one or their losing streak continues.

I saw Kyle Brandt today who is on assignment with the NFL Network to report from Latrobe during training camp. He was saying today that of course Rodgers is the starter but Will Howard has looked and he added "I mean really good!"

I can believe that Caleb was benched by Ben Johnson. If anything, that is what Caleb needs; good discipline. Nothing will ever be given in life; much less the NFL. He has to earn it.

As for your first statement?! I wouldn't be surprised if the team elects to pursue Anthony Richardson in 2026. I don't think he is for long in Indy.

Again, that would be the dream scenario for Will Howard to be "the one." Quite a bit has to happen though for that to occur. He has had a rock solid first two days of Training Camp according to reports. Should he continue to light it up when the pads come on, that will give the idea of him being it some traction.

Until then, I am 100% convinced that the Steelers will be nabbing a QB in 2026. Way too much draft capital not to unless and, again, Will Howard just shatters any and all expectations.

Yes but he was fawning over Kenny Pickett after his rookie season and questioned why teams passed on him. We all know how well that went. But I’ll give him a pass since he’s a Steelers homer and his judgement can be clouded at times

Because we always seem to take the Bears 1st round trash. We live in the Bears recycle bin :)

Playing against backups and future bag boys?

The reason for Howard's drop in the draft according to some scouts is his occasional inconsistency. Can he really play 60 snaps at a high level? Or will he be a Kyler Murray type where he looks great for a quarter or a half but struggles to put together a complete game?

I agree, but You have to remember that a lot of those so called bag boys are the best of what He played against in college.....so......being a rookie , right now that's not a bad thing. Two years from now, well that's another thing entirely.

And I'll add that more often than not the NFL Network GMFB staff are better cheerleaders than the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. They "glaze" everyone.

Exactly what I am thinking but more than likely they would have to trade away their 26 1st rounder to recoup a 27th 1st rounder. I am ok with that. Bring Rodgers back another year hopefully if he wants to and plays well and draft your WR, OT and Safety and fill out the depth on the team with the rest of the picks and your pretty much set going into 2027. We also will have alot of cap space to probably get a guard and CB to replace Seamalu and Slay with younger options to build with in FA.

I think this is the most realistic opinion. It would be perfect if Howard was "the guy" but it is going to take making a huge impression as well as getting a little lucky for him to be seen as an option to start in 26. Basically he will have to ball out so hard in camp that he is essentially neck and neck with Rudolph for the #2 job. Then he will need Rodgers to get hurt and the Steelers to take a shot on starting him in AR's absence. Then he has to essentially prove it from there....

It can happen, but incredibly unlikely. It's either that or the staff just believing in him enough to not draft a QB in 2026.

Honestly it would be great if we could just draft OL and S next year (and maybe trade some of those 3's for a second rounder and get a CB/DL or WR). But the reality is we're likely to be trading some capital to draft our next signal caller. Hey, I might even be there to watch it live lol
