My favorite Hulk Hogan story I read was about the time his agent came to him with 2 products and asked him what product he wanted to represent. A Mixer or an Indoor Grill. To say he chose poorly is a huge understatement. The blender called the "Thunder Mixer" was quickly forgotten, while the Grill he turned down would later go to George Foreman and would set Big George up for life.

 

This is getting to be a busy thread. Now it's Chuck Mangione!

And I didn't know who he was untill the Rocky 3 movie.

 

Never even heard of a Flugel Horn until Chuck dominated the Mello Rock radio channels back in the 70s.

RIP The Penny. U.S. Mint has finally decided that's all folks. They will make no more. Pennies were huge when I was a kid. Penny candy baby!! If you have grandchildren grab some for them. When their old and gray maybe they will get a few cents for them.

I'm convinced one day when I'm long gone it will be a cashless society.

I'd give it about 20 years until we go cashless. And I don't think that's a good thing.

I don't think it matters what the currency looks like. A physical coin or electronic it will represent the same thing. The problem with electronic money systems is security. Power grids go down. Hackers hack. It certainly is easier to flood an economy with false currency electronically to devalue it.


Plus, if we do everything from a computer how will we ever teach our children to count back change or write in cursive?

 

I quit carrying cash about 20 years ago. Pickpocketed once and robbed at gunpoint once and that was enough for me

 

The panhandlers must hate to see you coming.

 

Panhandlers get nothing. If someone is out there at least making an attempt then maybe. Wash windows, sing a song, pick up trash do something and maybe you’ll get something from me. Usually, it comes in the form of goods. For example Someone is in the grocery store parking lot busking then I might bring them a grocery bag of food and water. If you’re out there just sparing for change nope

 

I thought Joaquin Phoenix did a good job playing him in the film Walk the Line.
