i hate to keep being the repetitive a-hole in the group but he was going to make less money no matter what he did. They wanted him to take a paycut and reduce his salary to the point where it didn't hurt the cap and it is "reported" I can't stress that enough "reported" by the media and repeated by fans who never ever get anything wrong that it was a heavily incentive laden deal that would have given him 4.5 mil for the up coming season. Problem being that nobody here, in the media or anywhere else knows what they are talking about when it comes to details of the deal. Only Harrison, his agent and the Steelers know the details and since they didn't get the deal done I would say that those incentives weren't something that James was interested in because unless it was offering 3.5 million for showing up to camp nothing in this league is guaranteed except guaranteed money so taking money he gets for sure seems like a better deal than money he may or may not get if he stayed in Pittsburgh.

I think James' agent had him thinking he would be paid more so he didn't have to take that deep of a paycut. Remember agents get a % of the contract so it was self-serving of his agent to get the most money. I think James listened and is disappointed the way it all turned out but is happy to still be playing. He also said he wasn't trying to stay in the AFC north, but it was important he stayed close to his off-season home in Pittsburgh and the team he went to has a chance to compete.

Karlos started this "he hates the steelers" crap and I appreciate James coming out and setting the record straight.

I think last season brought the crazy out in a lot of us. I also see some of us haven't regained our sanity. ;)
