Hope there is no permanent eye damage, Chargers being very stingy with updates and now they don’t even know if he will participate in camp.

Definitely made the right call on letting him walk. Would have been looking at a RB room of Warren, Gainwell and Patterson.

Maybe their stadium can play Katy Perry's "Firework" every time he gets the ball.

I hope there is no damage as well. Certainly a scary situation.

We made the right call letting him walk, fireworks or not.

Never liked his running style anyway, no quickness or speed, questionable vision. Just a straight ahead runner who needs big holes.

It’s just piss poor luck. I like Najee and wish him success, except against us. He was a decent player and had success despite the mediocre coaching and game plan. Hope for a speedy recovery

Wishing him the best. Sounds like a freak accident that could happen to anyone

I was scratching my head a bit when they declined his option but it makes sense in hindsight, and not because of this accident. He was a great competitor but lacks burst and vision (excuse the pun) and there was always going to be a ceiling on what the running game could be with Najee as the lead back.

Maybe Johnson won’t be good either, but at least the team is trying to get better

Najee's field vision. Not related to his accident. Hoping Kaleb Johnson can see the field better,

Yeah, because if he was still with the Steelers means this accident would've happened the same way .

I really, really disliked that Canada guy.
I liked that Harris could catch and I did have a little problem with his North-South running.
He could smash guys, no doubt.
So as an OC I would have taken advantage of his pass-catching and run him in the middle with the play-action formations and used circle routes, Curls, and flare routes. What the Charges are likely to do.

I don't wish any ill-will to him, what kind of person does that?
I do agree that his time here was probably over and I don't understand why our GM didn't try to trade him? Even if it was for a 7th rounder... or part of a trade for a player.

Didn't JPP of the Giants completely destroy his thumb in a fireworks accident? Dude had a stub for a thumb from what I remember.

I have 5 daughters and 5 granddaughters, so believe me I am well aware of Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.

I wish all our players had the professionalism that Najee displays. Great character guy and was always a team player. His field vision was a slight problem but I’d take a player of his caliber over an idiot like George Pickens any day.

There are going to be a pile of steeler fans that spent the last 4 years whining about Harris’ lack of vision etc with a bit of egg on their faces.

Kalen Johnson has both burst and vision though. Outside of Aston Jeanty and maybe Omarion Hampton, there isn't a better pure runner from the 2025 Draft Class. Kaleb isn't going to explode for big gains but he is a battering ram that will wear down Defenses.

Up to the Offensive Line to do its job.

I truly do hope he is okay. Whatever information that Jim and Chargers are withholding clearly isn't good even though it is considered as non serious. I wish him all the best myself.

He was one of my favorite Steelers. Wish it would have worked out.

He has a point. Just because he's a Charger now doesn't mean he wouldn't have had the same accident as a Steeler. I wish the guy good luck, as long as its not against the Steelers, and I don't wish injuries on nobody, even T. Edmunds, or Lamar Jackson. LoL

Like any rookie we will have to wait and see how he performs

Running backs are a product of what’s in front of them though as you say. The offensive line is so important this upcoming season.

In other words, you would have had a plan that catered to the strengths of your team rather than a plan that was pretty much 'try harder'......lol

I would not call it the right move for us, due to its an off field injury.

I hope the best for him. I honestly hope he shows more value. I'm not one of these people for when x player leaves to where I hope we win the trade, etc.

Only time I would not want an x player to preform, is when they face us.

It sure did for a while. I also know every line from "High School Musical" and "Camp Rock". When they weren't on TV, I still had to hear them playing on the CD in the car.

Found a few articles saying that it is a superficial injury to the eye. I know that the eye is one of the faster healing things on your body, so that should help him recover. I hope that he doesn't suffer anything long term. I like Najee. The guy is a workhorse. Always had 100% effort from him. You never saw Najee give up on a play. I respect hard effort tremendously. He might not have had the vision and burst that we would like, but I do think that he showed true Steeler grit.
