Are the Steelers a better team than last year?

What you can expect: Teams are going to try to blitz the heck out of old Aaron Rodgers and knock him out of the game.

Can the Steelers offense protect AR from all of that? Probably not.

Can the Steelers offense discourage defenses from blitzing by running the ball up the middle and going deep? Probably so.

    It will be interesting.

    Can You say outliers.
How good was AB, Bell, T. Edmunds, Bush, J. Harrison, Bud Dupree, (I can do this all day.)...after they left???

Brown had lost his mind. Bell sat out a year, and his conditioning went to hell. Edmunds was never good. He just couldn't find another team to keep putting him out there despite him being a bad player. Bush's level of play cratered before he left the team. Bud Dupree blew out his knee and never fully recovered. Harrison is a decent example because he played so poorly that one year with the Bengals, but he was 35 when that happened.

I don't doubt that you can find some great examples to support your point, but those aren't them.

Sounds like a bunch of excuses you came up with of why they weren't as good as when they played here. I can do the same the opposite, but that's not the point. The point is with no excuses.....they were not as productive away from here, as they were here.

Dotson was a coaching issue. The others were player problems.

Dotson was let go because he couldn’t pass block for crap

    He still can’t

So if they work somewhere else it's a coach issue, and if they don't it's the players problem, Am I getting that correct???

For the players quoted, absolutely. In all cases? Certainly not.

And replacing it with Slay, Echols, Thornhill, and Bishop/Kent
I agree, this is an upgrade

Sutton was a mess last season, Jackson was very hit/miss (mostly miss), Kazee was late too often. The replacements? I'm not convinced it will be a visible upgrade. Slay has lost a few steps and will be susceptible to the speedy WRs, Thornhill can't tackle worth doody, Echols? meh, Bishop... hope he doesn't have to cover more than 2 secs.

OTOH, maybe the new DB coach can work miracles.

Thornhill grades better on coverage, Elliot and Fitzpatrick both grade above average in tackling, The sum of the group Elliot, Fitzpatrick, Thornhill I think means more than a few correctible mistackles by Thornhill.

Yes, you want to ignore any evidence that doesn't fit your claim even though you can't refute any of the explanations I gave you.

The point remains. There are reasons that have nothing to do with coaching in all of those instances.

    Now with Fitz gone, it's; Thornhill miss-tackles + Ramsey miss-tackles = League-Leading Explosives Plays

Thornhill sucks. We better hope they have a different plan than him seeing significant time.

Fitz played plenty of O'lay the last 2 years. He clearly did not want to hit anymore....he was a good tackler, but too many times, took poor angles.

And what have you accomplished with not finishing 4th?
    Absolutely nothing
    Zilch
    Zero
At least the Pirates aren’t the worst team in MLB.
    That’s what this sounds like.

The steelers would be a great team if it was in 2020.....Rodgers,Slay,Ramsey,Cam Heyward,Watt on the same team in 2020 would been crazy but now they are 5 years older,I am not sure

Who gives a :poopy:? If the Steelers had beaten the Browns in the playoffs then lost the week after, would that make fans feel better to brag about a playoff win :rolleye:?
