Another tally for the no faith in Will Howard fan club. Might as well see if they can trade him and get a couple tackling dummies while we can.

When saying game manager it doesn't always mean they aren't good, it means they aren't asked to carry the team.

I am placing my bets on the fact that, pound for pound, the Titans have one of the worst Rosters in all of Football. Some people believe he can have a Jayden Daniels Season but I am not among them. Terry McClaurin, DaRon Payne, Johnathan Allen, Bobby Wagner (still going strong I might add), Marshon Lattimore and even Jeremy Reaves (a former First Team All Pro) far exceeds what the likes of Tennesse has; Jeffrey Simmons included.

Jayden Daniels did a remarkable job on his own. However, it wasnt just the superior skill players he had to work with. Kliff Kingsbury is a much better OC than he ever was as a HC. Having someone like that as an OC, one who has worked with someone similar in Kyler Murray, does wonders.

Cam Ward has none of that; hence why it will not surprise me if he struggles a lot more than people believe.

Fifth year Seniors are more of a thing now than ever before.

As I said, thank NIL for that. Should Drew return, it will likely be due to his agent informing him that the NFL Draft Advisory Board doesnt have him viewed as a First Round Pick; much less a Top 20 Player. I myself am very high on Drew Allar ever since I watched some of his High School Highlights.

I was and still am a big believer of his talent. This season though is the one he needs to put it all together. I believe he can but Football is a very random sport. A lot can happen between now and then. I hope nothing but the best for Drew Allar but I shall always remind myself of the worst as well.

    ?! Another Tally?!

I did state that @Blast Furnace@Blast Furnace could be correct about the team maximizing the roster around Will Howard. That said, that would be a potential nightmare scenario as that would tell me that Broderick Jones failed; forcing Pittsburgh to invest, yet again, in an Offensive Tackle. Even worse?! The upcoming OT Class is talented but a bit top heavy.

Gonna have to trade up for one potentially.

Nothing against Howard I hope he turns out to be a good player, but the guys in the 2026 draft are expected to be better prospects. The Steelers just need to make sure they pick the right guy .

I think Allar would've been a top 10 pick this year in a weak QB class based on traits alone, he returned for his senior season because his team is loaded and has a good chance to win a title.

I am not so sure. Usually if the NFL Draft Advisory Board gives players that level of news, said players often bolt for the draft. Millions of Dollars already as a First Round Pick. Millions more as a Top 20.

Dont think Drew was a First Round Pick myself as a whole for his Junior Campaign to me. He has the tools yes but tools will only carry him so far. Need some consistency with those tools to make it count.

We have seen worse prospects than Allar go early in the draft Trubisky, Lance etc.

Even if you removed Howard from the equation, I can still see the logic in them using all that draft capital to finish building out the roster and then go after a QB in ‘27.

What if Rodgers has a very good season, they win a playoff game and he is feeling good and wants to come back for another year? Lot of scenarios to play out before then that will determine the direction they go in ‘26.

    Agreed

I was thinking they may want to play this coming season and then see where they are

    True.

That said, what we know now of Trubisky wasn't that well known coming out of North Carolina. Remember that, of the 2017 QBs at the time, Mahomes was the wild card of them all. Trubisky was dubbed as the sure fire bet. Hindsight obviously states otherwise but it wasn't the case in 2017.

As for Lance?! The Advisory Board are not made up of a group of seers. That said, it sure doesn't take a seer to realize that Lance played himself by not playing for one more season in 2021. Had he did, his career could have gone differently.... though even then, all of that is speculative.

Hence why I refrained from using Rodgers in that discussion at all. Rodgers could retire... or keep playing. It is all up to him of course. That said, the biggest caveat of any of these scenarios is the performance of both Pat Meyer and the Offensive Line; Broderick Jones being the biggest one in the spotlight.

I hate sounding like a broken record but sadly, until proven otherwise, Broderick will either be a major component as to why the reason the Steelers win a playoff game or he will be a major part of the reason as to why Pittsburgh misses the playoffs.

    No in between.
