Is just simply brilliant. I've been saying this, even before they promoted him to GM. It was a must to hold onto this genius. Not even considering the draft picks ... this man can work these contracts in his sleep. I'm surprised that the government hasn't asked him for help with the deficit. TJ's cap hit is less than what it would've been before the extension. Simply amazing! I'm telling you ... with Khan doing the numbers ... I never lose sleep. If it Khan be done ... he will get it done.

Steelers got it right with the GM pick after Colbert. Now... if only they would upgrade coaching with a HC featuring modern, 21st century philosophy on offense... we'd be rollin'

Someone listens to Collin too much. The last two SBs were basically won by Defense. Where they not??? When You hold the KC Chiefs to 6 points in 3 quarters, You probably could have won if You just kicked a field goal on every possession. LoL

So the Eagles offense sucks? What about the previous Super Bowl matchup between Eagles and Chiefs? Looked much different.

Yes, the Eagles hit the jackpot with some good defensive draft picks.... Jalen Carter, Cooper DeJean and that CB... can't remember his name. But the offense had to score for them to get to the Super Bowl and past Rams, Commanders, etc.

I like what Khan and Weidl are doing. Building the Oline (I know it hasn’t worked so far), being aggressive with changes and placing a higher value on draft picks.

If that Oline shows itself to be a solid unit as the year progresses I think the results will come. We have seen with the Eagles, Lions, Bucs and others that you can be really competitive without an elite QB as long as you have an Oline

You are misunderstanding me. Yes they have a great offense, but the way the Chiefs D the year before, and the Eagles D last SB played, they didn't really need a strong offense. That's all I'm getting at.

Talent is only that; talent. It takes a really good to, in this case, special Coach to maximize those pieces. Vic Fangio was given basically a Bugatti Chiron in terms of the defensive talent Howie Roseman had assembled. All Vic had to do was orchestrate that talent.

Given how successful Vic has been at doing so since he has entered the league, I'd say Philly is not only fine for the current but also for the foreseeable future.

Regarding Omar Khan, I do agree he has done a lot of good; namely with the Salary Cap aspects of handling contracts. That was one of the shortcomings of Kevin Colbert even during the height of the 2000s Steelers. Not a lot of dead money in cap but some of those contracts were considerable in cost. Granted, those types of extensions did get ironed out by 2015 but much of that had to do with Omar's work as VP if I recall.

As for both Drafting and Free Agency?! Drafting has been largely a success but Free Agent Signings have been hit or miss thus far. Deshon Elliot has been a good pickup while it is a bit too early to give a final verdict on Patrick Queen. Isaac Seumalo also has been a rock solid hit but Nick Herbig and other Offensive signings (thus far) have proven to be lackluster. Aaron Rodgers is the current big pickup but how much longer does he have; doubly so with an Offensive Line that must gel quickly?!

Trade wise?! More of the same. Joey Porter Jr. still has time to turn it around unlike the player they traded for in Claypool but neither Mike Williams nor Preston Smith could catch on. D.K. Metcalf, Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith are all the new acquisitions though it is fair to question as to how much these moves will pay off.

Long story short?! Khan's work as a GM has been very solid thus far. His next big move needs to be finding a QB and presumably finding the next HC of the Steelers. Tomlin's Contract is up in 2027 while Khans is up the year later.... that cannot be coincidence.

My problem with him,he make the team older since he is the GM and I don't think this team can compete for the SB....

You need a strong offense to win the super bowl too.The only average or below average offense to win the super bowl in the last 15 years are the 2015 Broncos and the 2023 chiefs(they had still Mahomes).Yes defense is very important but your offense still need to be strong

The eagles score 55 points in the NFC title game....

deletions are sometimes as good as the additions. you named metcalf, ramsey, smith as additions but there were many more subtle additions too. you have to start with warren being kept. gainwell, echols, slay, thornhill, harrison, ekuale, rudolph, mccullom, scharping, sermon, woods, pierre, skrowonek, c.anderson. all very good depth along with the draft and UDFA additions, bishop, castro, cook.

then there is the deletion of herbig, wilson, fields, fitzpatrick, kazee, jackson, moore, daniels, harris, pickens, pruitt. he has strengthened what were weaknesses. along with the draft pick depth at many spots.

injuries happen. daniels and herbig were decent pickups at the time. cutting bait with many of these guys is something i'm not sure would have happened with colbert. one year and move to upgrade seems to be an omar trait so far. i think he has enough vision to not just build at one position by one guy but to strengthen the position with depth as well. i'm not sure that was what colbert always did. he also seemed to hang onto guys a year or so too long. omar doesn't seem to be doing that.

let's not forget coaches. arth, azzanni, alexander, mccurly, martin, smith. out are curry, sullivan, brown, canada.

he has also redone the whole scouting section of the steelers.

The Eagles won the SB with a record number $390M in void years on contracts. Is this the way modern teams win a championship?

Tampa Bay did the same thing with the contract of Brady and other.Maybe the rams too....The void years is a great way to keep the roster together if your team is a true super bowl contender

32 teams will go as their OL goes this season. I think the Steelers are building the right way. The trick is always finding the right guys. We should really find out something this season.

    Full disclosure.
I am on the dissenting side, if not the only one.
Omar is mediocre until he proves otherwise.

As I've said all along, he is not horrible... just mediocre.
Can he get better, I would say so.
Needing a #2WR and trading for a CB and TE is kind of inexplicable. Unless they find a way to mine another 800 yards out of Smith and Ramsey remains respectful.
I would add the emergence of 1 of the WR draft picks.

And of course, the number 1 item on the "To-Do" list; Find a friggin QB.
This is the NFL, you cannot make a living on retreads.
He can solve this next year.

But if Rogers get hurt, Howard does squat and Mason sucks.
And Ramsey get beats like a drum
And our new WR is a cancer......
I'd fire him two seconds after the final whistle and not bat an eye.

His draft classes still have a lot to prove especially the two tackles.

    I don't disagree.
But my gut feeling is they will.
I am more concerned with what I stated.

yes - that too. hard set back last year - certainly no fault on Khan either. When I say coaching, I am not only pointing a MT - Meyer sucks too. that is the OL coaching I refer to. Who would hire him if we fired him today?
