OK . It WAS Glanville. Not Bum. Both were Oilers HC’s. Thanks for clearing that up.

The NFL started sissifying football with the banning of the head slap in 1977, followed by the Mel Blount rule in 1978. It may have been the most even matched Super Bowl ever.

There were 24 Hall of fame players in Superbowl XIII. The Steelers had 14 and the Cowboys 10, add Noll and Landry and it makes 26 in total.

Easy, 84 niners team with Mark Malone as our QB... Only loss the niners had that year

Why do we need 2 threads for this?

    '76 Raiders and '05 Colts.

Honorable Mention: '78 Cowboys and '75 Cowboys. Staubach was hands down the best QB Steelers ever defeated in post season.

Do they beat themselves before or after they beat off the defenders?

Deacon Jones is credited with using the head slap most effectively.

I remember that game because I started a fire that almost burned down the woods behind our house. My wife told me that the papers needed burned at halftime so I ran out real fast lit the fire in the burn barrel and then rushed back in to watch the second half. A strong wind was blowing and blew some lit paper onto the dry leaves in the woods. During the 3rd quarter my wife screamed out that the woods were on fire. I took 2 hundred foot hoses and screwed them together and was able to barely get the fire out. If I would have taken a couple of minutes longer the hoses wouldn't have reached the flames. I missed the fourth quarter but at least I didn't burn my neighbors out on the other side of the woods.

When was the last time we won a legit post season game? Kids born at that time are teenagers now.

When's the next time we will see a legit post season win?
