Yes. He is the best player on the team and I expect a big season from him this year. They have drafted Harmon and Black to try to shore up the run D which will give TJ and Alex more opportunities. The deal looks fine and they can afford it. Go Steelers

I am happy it was a 3 year contract. I was hearing rumors that TJ wanted 5 years.

    Yes.

Even though I don't like he finished the season, he still got us there to having a chance.

I'm never much for wanting picks. Because picks don't work out, regardless how great a player looks in college.

The only other thing is we could say we could bring in two great players in two other positions. However there's nothing out there. And if there's someone we want next year, we can always make it happen.

I'm glad I don't have to give his jersey away. LoL.
I'm a fan of his, so yeah I'm glad, and we aren't spending big money on a Qb, and won't be for awhile.....so....

I have not 1 but 2 of his jerseys (black ‘n white) not to mention a host of other signed Watt paraphernalia. I’m stoked he’s back. However, he’d better deliver an unarguable MVP season.

Im a traditionalist who grew up with the 70s-80s where players weren’t as greedy and didn’t get paid what they’re paid now. All I’m asking is that he puts his play where his money now is.

I like TJ a lot but his best days are likely behind him and this team will not be competitive without a QB while he is still playing at a high level. We have been trying to win with a defense first and conservative offensive mind set for years and it’s clearly not working. NFL has changed to favor offense and the Steelers are having a hard time adjusting to it.

I don't have a problem with Watt's new contract. At maximum positive outlook, Steelers won't have to pay a franchise QB until the end of Howell's rookie contract if he somehow pulls a "Brock Purdy" and miraculously morphs into a franchise caliber QB. Likewise with a 2026 first round QB draft pick. Watt's contract will be expired by then and off the cap. Steelers were correct to pay their current best player.

I would have invested elsewhere and gotten something for him now. As fun as he is to watch when he's wrecking games, it's equally painful to watch him disappear when they need him most and can't adjust without him. Not sure that's worth $123M.

It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard’.

Ok let’s see what “travelers” recognizes this

Clueless to think what we will receive in return for Watt?
Don’t think it will be a #1 and a 3 rd pick like most think on here

    Fun fact:
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a record of 1-10 in games where T.J. Watt does not play. This includes regular season and playoff games. Conversely, the Steelers have a record of 79-40-2 with Watt on the field.

i was on the fence about him but the money isn't just about him. the staff has to do their job too. find ways to make him worth that money in how they use him. he wasn't alone out there. in most situations when he would disappear there was a reason. the other offense was dedicating two and sometimes a third guy to stopping him. the rest of the squad didn't take advantage of the situation.

True. Not a great endorsement for the coaching staff's ability (or inability) to make in game adjustments. I hope this is the year for TJ to experience his first postseason win.

Yes, very happy they signed him. They simply do not win without him. I pray he can stay healthy all year and take us deep into the playoffs or better yet the SB.
