You might want to go back and look what the Patriots did to Cowher and LeBeau

    correct - EVISCERATED THEM

and what year was it that Brady was out - 2008 - his torn ACL. We were fortunate that season - as we could NEVER get by NE when it MATTERED! and then the Chargers somehow knocked Indy out and had to travel to our crib to give us a break - remember that wild Sat night game - SD and Indy?

Cowher we DEVOID of how to beat them. He and LeBeau had NO CLUE what to do.

and when we got in , in 2010 - we lucked out that the RATS knocked them out. THEY knew how to smack them in the mouth.

Cowher and Tomlin got outcoached regularly by SMARTER coaches. that is their legacy - BOTH of them

Jets and Darelle Revis knocked the Patriots out... not the Rats. We knocked out the Rats.

ok - the Rats knocked them out in 2010?

    Getting my years backwards....

my point is we NEVER could beat them when it MATTERED. Cowher and LeBeau were clueless.

2001, 2004, and then in what, 2016 (?) - could not get past them.

When we got the SB in 2008 and 2010, the Dirty Work was done, or as I said, in '08, TB12 was out of the equation.

Complaining about the teams the Steelers played / didn't play on the way to SB victories / appearances is wild to me. LOL

Patriots missed the playoffs in '08 with Matt Cassell at QB. They managed a 11-5 record, but still missed out on post season.

    not complaining.

    just revisiting the history.

we COULD NOT beat NE when it counted, EVER.

    is that complaining?

Tomlin, Cowher, LeBeau - had NO ANSWERS. Ben could not get it done either.

it sucked - that is what it did, it SUCKED

Steelers DID beat the BEST team of the 00's decade.... The 2005 Indianapolis Colts when it counted. In my opinion, that team was better than the 2007 Patriots that went 18-1.

Meh...I get it, but who knows what would have happened had those games happened. Did you expect the Steelers to beat IND in 2005 after getting throttled by them earlier that season?

Football as is with life is what have you done for me lately and in terms of post season success he hasn’t done ****.

Other SB coaches get fired but because Tomlins is coupled with no losing seasons he should be teflon?

I agree. The Head Coach and Owner are both responsible for organizational stagnation. The owner isn't going anywhere for awhile, hopefully the GM is good enough. Remains to be seen.

There is a reason the NFL stands for 'Not For Long', because like Players, a Head Coach has a shelf life and Tomlin is long past his expiration date. He is stale.

It was during the spygate era....The steelers still won a game against them when the pats were in a 32-2 run from week 5 in 2003 until the end of 2004

1st , and foremost, if the Steelers fire Tomlin tomorrow, I will root for the next guy, but.......
What I'm trying to get through to people is the simple fact that teams don't fire guys that Have been to 2 Sb, and have never had a losing season in the history of the NFL. This should be a telling factor. Yet somehow this is flying right over most people's heads. Don't you think we would have seen it done before in the History of the NFL if it was so cut, and dry as.....well he hasn't won a playoff game since 8 years .....even though He still get us there most if the time.
The closest to that effect would be the firing of Marty Schottenheimer by the Cleveland Browns, and I don't really think we should allow for them, to show us the way in anything, and as You can see it really didn't help them any.....hell that was some of their best times, and they fired him....yeah showed them . LoL

Exactly the words used for Cowher before he won a SB, and for Dick LeBeau before he got fired....., and yet now people hero worship both. Am I lying?????

Hell I know they did. They called him the dumbest HC ever. I freaking remember, and now a huge percentage of them hero worship the Guy. All I've been trying to get across to people is......if the Steelers had listened to them about Cowher, he would never had won a SB, and yet here the same go again. It's history repeating itself.

teams ebb and flow during different seasons. the chiefs are a hot team right now. the patriots were for a long time. the steelers were in the 70's. they got good and won later on but they were never as good as in the 70's teams. when the chiefs fade another will get good. it will be the team to beat for awhile. others may come close to beating them but usually fall just short. none last forever. just like the west coast offense, everyone wanted to run it because it was unbeatable and would be the gold standard of the league from then on. wrong. football is a pretty basic game. you have the horses or you don't. one position or one coach won't keep you on top forever.

Although I think that 2008 team would've had a good chance to beat New England even if Brady was healthy.

Last I checked the Rooney's don't fire their HC so it's a moot point.
