    it was PATHETIC.

the only game we should have lost was the DEN game - they were the better team that year, IMO.

the 2001 NE loss was PATHETIC. so was the Chargers loss. that loss alone was when I started to realize Cowher was nothing more than a great motivator - not a superb X's and O's guy - similar to Tomlin in that regard. He did have SOLID coaches around him, something Tomlin DOES NOT have.

After the Kent Graham era, I was very ready for Cowher to move on. Ben saved his career and the hard head did not even want to draft him!

i would contend that the Chin was too stubborn to know that he needed a QB. He was one hard headed coach. He thought he could line up and muscle his way to wins every week. He did not understand that the game was evolving to a QB led league.

i think he was talking about when Cowher was running wild?

    1990's?

NFC was dominant - SF and DAL was the SB for several years, I thought.....

i may have missed part of this!!!

My point is that the steelers were able to be in the AFC title game even when the AFC were very strong.....The best 2 seasons of the steelers in the Cowher era was in 2004 and 2005 when the AFC was at his peak

And btw,the mid 2010s,the AFC was weak and the steelers had the killer B's,only 1 afc title game

You are freaking kidding, if you think Tomlin is a better coach than Cowher. Next, you will say he was better than Noll.

He had a severe handicap in 2 of those. Kordell at QB. Granted he gets blame for choosing him.

To me thats a huge difference between the two. Cowher wasn’t too proud to surround himself with good to great AC.

Sorry... you lost, got PWN3D, whatever you want to call it. Many agree with me.

If you were talking about the early to mid 90's.... I could understand the argument for the AFC being weak when Cowboys, 49ers and Packers dominated the NFC and the entire NFL. But the 2000's?

Patriots, Steelers and Colts... in that order, were the dominant teams in the 2000's decade. No other NFC team was even close. Bucs and Rams fizzled out by the mid 00's. Giants caught lightning in a bottle in 2007... but didn't do much again until the next decade.

You were talking about Cowher and his team in a weak AFC. That argument holds up in '94 and '95.... not '97, not '01, not '04 and beyond.

You can make all the excuses you want they were at home as the favorite in 2001 in the AFCCG, maybe don't give up two special teams TDs .

The "weak" Patriots team that beat the Steelers ended up defeating the "Greatest Show on Turf" in the Super Bowl.

That Patriots team cheated filming the Rams practice leading up to the Super Bowl, the refs let the Patriots CBs mug the Rams receivers.

Please, Please think before answering. As we have seen , not all teams , like not all people are very smart.
So I ask again.....where was the 40 million dollar contract last year???
As some teams aren't very smart, like some people....they fell for the .....4 -2 record....like some people here did.
Again I noticed that you skipped everything else You have no answers for.
