Yes, they're building up the team the right way. You're not going to hit on every draft pick.

    :hmm:

Considering Khan inherited a mess of a mess, to say he isn't worthy of a contract extension is a bit silly. I have said this many times this Offseason and will again. Should people want to begin to write off Omar Khan, do so following the conclusion of the 2026 Season. For that matter, ready up those proverbial pitchforks during the 2026 Draft Cycle. That will be a much better time to begin to do so. A heavy QB class, Khan will have to make his move. Who that QB will be remains a mystery for the NCAA FBS I College Football Season has yet to be played.

    Judging Khan now is silly.

I agree. I see no problem with extending him and allowing his first couple of drafts cycle through until their 2nd contracts before truly grading him. He's been forced to rely on FA/trades to restock the roster whilst drafting a potential core to build around in the future drafts. I wouldn't say he's doing downright amazing nor pathetic. It's either a solid C or incomplete at this point.

As for Tomlin, there's just been too much smoke these past couple of seasons. I tend to think we're closer to the end of his tenure than the start of it. Perhaps he gets traded at the end of this season or next, who knows. But with the 26 QB class in mind and considering Tomlin's long term trajectory, I'd personally want a new HC/OC drafting their guy instead of drafting a guy only to be drafting another in a season or two later.

every trade and signing khan made i'm ok with. even the ones that didn't work out were worth the attempt because those were low cost, low risk, high return test-drives to see if the guy had anything left for us.
    I like khan.

The Jones and Fautanu picks better work out though......

You make a valid point. If Tomlin has been heavily involved in the draft all these years, did he suddenly find religion and figured out how to draft the last couple? I don't think so. The Steelers have clearly elevated other voices in the room, and for good reason. The Tomlin/Colbert relationship was not producing good results.
