I am pissed off honestly because David should have been in the Hall of Fame a long time ago and now he will not be there to be inducted into the Hall of Fame but rest in peace Mr. Parker

    I agree!
If they would just get rid of their worst players and try others, they could improve. If they would cut Pham and put someone from AAA in his place to see if they could hit, they would at least be no worse off.

After last two games against Mets they should check the Players for drug use.

I have a theory - perhaps the Bucs aren't as bad as they appear . Perhaps it's all a matter of timing. Perhaps they have simply played the opposition at precisely the wrong time so far this season (or the last 30+ years for that matter (with the exception of 2 years)? e.g. - if they would have played the Mets last month they would have been easily shellacked and swept when the Mets were on fire, either at home or on the road. As it is, they have already won this series and outscored them 18-3 in the first 2 games, probably the highest combined score in back to back games in a long time This is my rationale and I'm sticking to it. Location, location, location - timing, timing, timing. (No green font needed).

EDIT - outscoring them 23-3 right now.

EDIT AGAIN - 28-4 (did the Steelers even score this many last year?)

FINAL EDIT - 30-4 - this should help that run differential. Biggest series differential in 50 years - before many on this MB were even born possibly. First sweep of Mets in 10 years. WS! LOL.

If we hold on we will have swept two World Series contenders. Took care of my evil team, the Phillies. Come early Sept. it's on you Desert guy. Sweep them Dodgers.

This makes up for all those years getting pounded and blanked by Strawberry and Doc Gooden. The Mets have always had the Bucs number. This seems to be their MO - get hot before the All Star Game and then wilt on the other side into the dog days. Woof.

Pirates looked like a different team in this series. Either they are auditioning to be traded to a contender, or they all got together and snorted Dave Parker’s ashes in the clubhouse.
Edit: I looked on several Mets forums, as it was too hot to mow the grass. They are NOT happy about getting a gluteal pummeling at the hands of the “lowly Pirates”. There is that arrogant New York thing going on. I remember way back when they thought Ed Kranepool and Bud Harrelson were the greatest players ever.

Bob Gibson had more complete games than wins 255-251 in his career. McLain 28 CG in 41 starts.

And McLain was washed up two years later, at age 27. If they tried to pitch guys 300+ innings today, with the velocity they throw at, everyone’s arm would be falling off. There would not be enough surgeons to do all the Tommy John surgeries that would be required.

Cardinals latest victim of berserk Bucs, who beat them 7-0. Heaney looked very sharp, Shugart in relief looked sharp too.

I know they will come down to Earth at some point soon, but this is enjoyable.
Termarr Johnson, Konnor Griffin, Hunter Barco, and Bubba Chandler are coming soon. The road to respectability might be shorter than we think.
Edit: The gluteal drubbing of the Mets was done without benefit of Skenes pitching. He starts tomorrow night(Tuesday) against the lucky Cardinals. Maybe now they are in a mood to given him some run support.

It would be the Pirate way to not score a run with Skenes pitching after the 4 game run explosion.

Road to respectability will never happen cause Bobby boy would trade it away before he'd pay for it.

I see on another message board a lot of Buc fans are concerned the bats will go silent for Skenes tonight. I would think he is even wondering about it.

While we're watching an offensive explosion since Friday, what's even more impressive is the pitching they're getting - 4 runs allowed in 4 games? Crazy. Did you see where Pham is blaming his early batting woes on a bizarre eye disorder that he's finally resolved with new contacts? Whatever works. Guess Hayes, Reynolds and Davis all are trying them now also.

Looks like Bucs Cards will be Free Game Du Jour on Wednesday. Without typical recent rain delay it will start at 9:35 am here on the left coast which means oatmeal and Jack for starting pitch. Actually I quit that nasty bad habit so it will only be Jack. Cheers Rollers! :drinks:

They must of got mixed up. It should be today with Skenes pitching. If they are going for 6 straight tomorrow I'll be watching.

Todays free game is later tonight - White Sox at LA Dodgers. 10:10pm on the right coast. :sleepy: Bucs have to face Sonny Gray 8-2 tomorrow. Can they continue this pace? :tequila:

While this is general MLB or Other Sports - based on the All Star votes so far, the Dodgers are controlling every position in votes. Looks like they were handing out All Star ballots along with bricks, frozen water bottles, signs, banners and flags in the streets earlier this month.

Skenes pitch count at 75 after 4 innings. This has been my biggest concern with him. No way he will ever pitch a no hitter with MLB pitch count.

When Skenes pitches the Seinfeld show's "Soup Nazi" comes to mind, "NO RUNS FOR YOU".

Hey we won 1-0 for 5 straight. Your Pittsburgh Pirates are 22-17 since May 20th!!

Once fan voting took over I lost all interest in the ASG. Not sure but I think the league who wins gets home field advantage in the WS. We never have to worry about that being a Pirate fan.
