Yeah, the Patriots smoked the Steelers 28-3 in the 1996 playoffs. I guess Cowher didn't have his team ready to play, or they were playing down to the competition ;).

Crazy in 1996,the steelers were almost top 10 in PPG on offense despite awful QB play all season long after losing Neil O'Donnell in free agency

losing the last 2 regular season game cost a first round bye for the steelers so it cost them big time

I remember when we used to own the Patriots. Terry was 5-1 head to head against them. Thats when the only patriot fans were from boston.

To think Brady Was going to lose that first playoff game against Pittsburgh when he was replaced by Bledsoe.

He'll never admit it, but I bet that's what really fueled his ire for playing the Steelers from then on.

After this loss Donahoe told the media he thought the team looked flat, and that really pissed Cowher off.

He never dropped it. Both hands were on the ball the entire time. His left hand was under the ball, so there's no clear video footage of the ball even touching the ground.

Cowher had him at the wrong position, he should have been at WR.

The rule was always once you make the catch and cross the goal line it is a TD. He could drop it, spike it or kick it up in the stands it doesn't matter. As long as he secured the catch, which he did, and crossed the goal line, which he did, it was a TD.
