The Jalen Ramsey deal is something I get a feel that Omar just tossed a line in the water on with no bait.
It just doesn't have the feel of being in earnest.
They totally passed on the GB DB, not sure why Ramsey would appeal. (I like the article pointing that out)
    They really need a WR.
Maybe the Ramsey deal is a misdirection. Or, possibly just inexplicable.

It's not what I said. You people are misunderstanding me. They work hand in hand, but if the Qb, and teams go to a short game, no amount of great D line will stop this, they don't have the time, that's where a great secondary comes in.

How many people do you think I am

And by the way I did not misunderstand you I was simply stating

Personally I would build a defensive line before I built a defensive backfield

And that is an accurate statement

Because You are the 3rd person that didn't read everything that was in this conversation, and are only starting at a point in the conversation. That's where I got that from. Again one will not work without the other, but we have watched some of our very best DL get made to look slow because the Qb would get the ball out so fast. Anyone remember the awesome SB line we had , and Yet Brady with Cowher, and Tomlin would just abuse us, because outside of Polamalu, and Ike, everyone else was average in the backfield in coverage.

the D-line should be getting hands up if they go to the short game. disrupt passing lanes. this also helps take away the short game. hits on the QB helps as well. jamming receivers at the line. many ways to disrupt the short game too without being just coverage.

Scheme was a big factor in the earlier @ss kickings against Brady as well.

Didn’t really matter who any team lined up against gronk. That’s what happens with great players. The same as with someone like AB.

cam had 11. ogunjobi had 0. his tackles also declined every year here. he was really not a great pickup for us. glad to be rid of larry. benton had 6 and has 8 in two seasons. adams had 0. he has had 3 in 4 years. glad they have moved on from him as well. lowry had 1. loudermilk had 1. 6 in 4 years. we needed the upgrade on the DL for sure.

You can't jam the wrs if Your CBs can't do it.....otherwise You will have guys running wide a$$ open in 2 seconds.

So both HC(Cowher, andTomlin) couldn't scheme against Brady.
There are certain schemes you can't run if You don't have the players to run them.

What does that say about our coaching Mac? Two veterans who dont get their hands up, 4 guys drafted and developed do. Is it coaching or Cam telling young guys to get your hands up in passing lanes?

We have triple bracketed Gronk, and still couldn't stop him, hell we even tried not even covering him to see if that would work. LoL

Getting your hands up as a defensive linemen is one of the things you’re taught at the high school level if not earlier.

unfortunately there is a lot of stuff that they are taught that goes in one ear and out the other by the time they reach the pro level. I remember shortly before Shazier's accident some one on the board said his habit of lowering his head and not looking at the tackle was going to lead to an injury. I didnt see enough of Adams to form an opinion on his play but Larry-O seemed to focus on run stopping and trying to get to the QB to remember to put his hands up.

I would take him on a reduced contract he could still provide some help to the team.

You don’t put your hands up just for the sake of doing. For example putting your hands up when the play is developing to the otherside doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. In fact the right thing to do is wait for wait for it get to the quarterback. Remind me why a defensive lineman would be putting his hands up on a running play
