And the problem with the 7th seed? Likely playing a 1 or 2 seed. Can you spell 'early exit '?

The Steelers had Tom Brady. These latest teams have Mahomes. Until that puzzle is solved expect more of the same.

Difference, the steelers face Brady only once in the playoffs in the Tomlin era....This is four time in this decade for the Bills.I still think the Bills or ravens will be in the super bowl at some point. The chiefs will not be in the super bowl every year!

Oh so that made the Ravens, and Bill make the SB. LoL ...sorry I didn't understand. If You get knocked out , and get your orbital bone fractured, does it really matter if it was in the 1st round, or the 3rd???

Winning playoff games and losing in heartbreaking close games is a wee bit different than getting beat by 30 in the WC game every season

We all know how hard it is to win a SB. Showing progress and being competitive would be nice no?

That's ridiculous to try and compare the NFL to the NBA and the rebuilding process, teams in the NBA openly tank and will trade 4 first round picks for a player.

Never good enough to go deep in playoffs, not bad enough to draft a really good QB. Purgatory definitely, but I like to call it Steelers Groundhog Day.
I have a theory as to why it has been like that. The Steelers play the Browns twice and the Bengals twice each year. Historically those have been bad teams. Maybe the Steelers’s record was inflated by several games by playing the two Ohio teams, and they were not quite as good as we thought they were.
Big Ben had a ridiculous record against the Browns and Bengals, I don’t remember what it was.

Maybe so. But Tomlin was 3-10 all time against NE. At least a few of the regular season games ended up impacting the seeding. Example; 2017 - if the Steelers had beaten NE in the regular season, they would have played TEN in the divisional round instead of JAX. This could have ended up a completely different post season for them.

if you are shot in the head and you stagger around for 30 seconds before you die or 3 seconds before you die, it's the same outcome. but he held on for 30 seconds it was more exciting. for who? same results.:cool:

Winning a SB is extremely difficult if that’s the only thing that makes a season successful you will be dissatisfied with 95% of a teams season year over year. I’d gladly take an exciting postseason run from time to time with the hopes that one of those years we can win it all. We are not even close to being an actual contender for over a decade.

The bengals were not always bad in the Marvin Lewis era,in the regular season at least!

They make the playoffs 5 season in a row at one point!

Even though they don't have a franchise QB they're building up the team the right way by addressing the trenches.

And dropped it therefore it was not a catch under the rules at the time

    The refs got it right

    They since changed the rule

Yes , or No question. Are they both getting to the playoffs, and losing before they get to the SB???
You know You people like Yourself, and @Steelersfan43@Steelersfan43 are acting like once You get to the playoffs its different winning one game ,or two even if You don't go anywhere. It's the exact same thing as two teams that didn't make the playoffs arguing about who was better.....the one with the 5 - 12 record, or the one with the 6-11 record......Neither was good, Neither made the playoffs.
    For the millionth time .....
If You don't make the playoffs it doesn't matter if You had a 4- 13 record, or a 6- 11 record, you still didn't make the playoffs, and once You make the playoffs.....it doesn't matter if You win one game , 2, or 3 if You don't make the SB. All the rest is just ego stroking, but Y'all keep telling me how much better they are....as they go to the playoffs, and lose just like we do, before we reach the SB.

Different tier exist my friends....Funny you change the goal post every year, since last year you was talking all off season long the importance to win the games inside of your division likely because the steelers were 5-1 in 2023...Now that the ravens beat us twice last year in the 2 most important matchup of the year, you change the goal post for some reason....
