    it's the miserable middle

    that is where we are

Too lousy to compete for a championship

too good to compete for a Top QB in the draft (and too stupid to develop one!)

43% of the teams make the playoffs, we might grab that 7 Seed again - WOO-HOO!!!!!

    Players come and go.

    Assistant Coaches come and go.

But there is one common denominator.

    Who has an enabler.

We all know the change that needs to happen in order for this organization to seriously compete for a SB title again. It’s as obvious as these summer days are long. The FO people really couldn’t care less anymore so long as they sell seats, merchandise and concessions. If we happen to do better than expected then so be it but if the team falls flat, all is good as well. They know tens of thousands of fans will show up to every home and away game so much so that Dublin Ireland will look like the North shore come game day. They have a product that is adequate to make them all very wealthy and that is all they really look forward to anymore. Art Rooney Sr. has been rolling in his grave every year since his passing but the Standard will once again be the standard for 2025 and probably beyond. Just sit back and enjoy the non losing regular season and probable first round exit should they squeak in. This roster ain’t scaring anybody.

I think it's Packers (37) Cowboys (36) and us at 35. We are top 3 in Playoff appearances. I use to take pride in that but now all major sports are throwing as many teams as they can into the Playoffs. The NBA is the worse. Anybody who follows it knows most of the playoff teams don't have a shot. NHL, the best. I've seen an 8 seed in the Cup final.

So saying, hey , at least we made the Playoffs is BS now days.

So is the Ravens, Bills, and everyone that isn't the Chiefs, Eagles, and 49ers going to be there with us, because outside of those 3 teams everyone else is just going to the playoffs, and losing like us most of the time.
I keep hearing about how the Bills, and Ravens are all this....yet where are the SBs wins, hell where are the SB appearances???
Hell they have so called MVP Qbs, and they still can't make it.

That #5 reminded of another Pittsburgh team who has had 5 winning seasons in 25 years and it won't get better.

I think it’s fair to say that the team is in purgatory and it won’t change until they find a quarterback. They haven’t been able to replace Ben, much like the Colts haven’t replaced Luck and the Saints haven’t replaced Brees.

One thing that is also worth noting is some very questionable drafting and team building decisions over a sustained period. They have only drafted one All-pro in eleven drafts between 2014-2024. The drafting has been abysmal at times and that has contributed to the team spinning its wheels. They let that Oline of Pouncey, DeCastro, Foster and Villanueva age out along with Ben and have spent the last three or four seasons trying to fix it.

There is a new group starting to form a team identity in Porter, Fautanu, Frazier, Harmon etc and it remains to be seen if they can become the next cornerstone players.

You are right but this is not better at the QB position right now....But they had in the late 1980s a true rebuilding who helped the steelers in the 1990s to be a contender for several years.Noll gave the steelers a good foundation at the end and he deserve credit for that

The defense had talent and they were very young!
