The Bengals first round pick

The Bengals can't sign their best defensive player in Hendrickson or their first round pick, but at least they paid both of their receivers.

It is so interesting that the Bengals are wanting him to sign a rookie contract with no guarantees.

The CBA guarantees most rookie contracts, unless the contract has something in it that voids the guarantee.

Not sure why the Bengals have decided to try out this type of void for the 1st time ever.

FYI. Stewart left OTAs as after the first day. No signed contract can't be penalized for missing OTAs.

 

I wouldn't mind seeing Hendrickson leave the division.

From what I read on the Stewart front, the Bengals don't want to guarantee his rookie contract against him getting injured. That has been a major issue. First round picks typically get this guarantee, I'm told.

The Bengals first round pick had a grand total of 4 sacks in 3 years of college. Maybe they are reluctant to sign him because it just now dawned on them that he sucks.

 

Mind you that Shemar didn't pick himself. Mike Brown and Trey Brown both can be held accountable for that decision. For that matter, they did the same with Myles Murphy circa 2023; supremely athletic and gifted but super raw.


Myles hasn't developed as they hoped either.
