I am not going to look up the history and specifics, but the 17 game schedule was one of the pretexts that a team would still have at least 8 games at home, supposedly rotating. The Jags (at least last year) had 2 back to back games in London, one H the other Away, while this may be testing to see if a franchise has the support for a full time team there, I think we possibly will see more of this with an 18 game schedule. Foreign expansion and a team playing 2 games in the same city, H and A branding, still having at least 8 games in their own city, but giving exira opportunity in the over seas market as well. With 600,000 thousand in the queue, with tickets already sold, you know the NFL is going to build on this.

I hear some people saying the NFL wants to extend season so the SB is played the Sunday before Presidents day so many people automatically have the day after the SB off.

That was talked about, some of the ideas (just speculation) included with the expansion to 18 games was going to only 2 preseason games, adding another bye week, adding a playoff team and eliminating the top bye for each conference. Some, maybe none or all could cone to be, the bottom line for owners is money, lol. The ratings continue to be high, the league is talked about 12 months a year, as long as the money come in they will continue to push every boundary. I just wonder what the quality will be, but 10 billion for the Lakers just shows the value for teams still soars.

    Nope

That is not what I said

What I said was accurate and true

This is just your interpretation of what I said

But you did say he would not play this year on his existing contract

    Hmm

I would almost guarantee a 18 game season in the near future.

Getting it passed by the CBA is probably their biggest battle, but as they got the 17 game passed it's just how much they throw at the players. The amount thrown out for the 17 game was packet change for established stars, but for the first contract and lower paid players the boost was significant enough to get it passed. There is likely multiple things pro and con for the players, bottom line is the bucks, lol. Honestly do not have the numbers, but beyond the extra game payment, how much has the CAP went up, and how much is from the 17th game through the extra streaming and gambling revenue?

It would be cool to see the numbers from just the additional game.

It would, and where I personally cannot connect is the time difference and how that affects all fans, but mostly local areas. This year the Vikes play back to back games in London and Ireland., classed as one H and one A. I can see the long term advantage, less travel and what not, but for local fans those games will be broadcast between 8-10 Am, if your team gets a bye right after that your team is basically away for 3 weeks. It happens, it's going to happen more, but somewhere along the line I think quality and interest may wain. Maybe I'm wrong, but a rubber band can only be stretched so far before it breaks or loses it elasticity.

That rubber band has been stretching since the first NFL TV contract October 22, 1939

I don’t see it breaking any time soon

Plus a bajillion jerseys are going to be sold in Ireland etc

I love brisket but it’s hard around here to find a place that does it well

With that said I went to farm parties the last two weekends where they raised the beef and smoked it :thumbs_up::thumbs_up:

I mostly eat shrimp when I’m sitting on a NC beach late October because it’s wild caught and fresh off the boat

In general I like ribeyes the best

My grandfather was a butcher and I’m a meataholic

We do it in a smoker, and on the grill outside here, because You don't have to heat Your home right now, and if we don't do it , there is a local butcher that does it all week, and His prices are pretty good, and his meats are very great cuts, and awesomely done.
