My best guess is that he will be called up on June 20th. It is a Friday night home game, first game of a home stand, probably safely past the Super Two date.
    How about you guys?

Probably another pitcher for a future money team. Bucs got pitching.

They called up Burrows but not Bubba.

They called Ashcraft up. I think they don’t want to risk Chandler winning rookie of the year. I read that they would lose a year of control if he does.
I can just imagine the effect on these guys when they sit in the minors and watch someone less successful and less deserving promoted ahead of them.
I would hate my employer forever.

If a player wins Rookie of the Year, his team is awarded a bonus pick at the end of the first round and bonus money.

Of course, that is a competitive benefit and the Pirates don't care about being competitive.

There are rumors that Chandler will be up Tuesday to take Burrows' spot in the rotation, but I'm not sure that works. He just pitched Saturday.

Getting close to my prediction of June 20th for Chandler’s call up date, with not a hint that we will see him soon. He did have a game in which he struggled. I guess I was wrong.
    I wish they would
    1) trade Hayes for minor league talent,
    2) promote Malcolm Nuñez to play third,
    3) trade Heaney for more minor league talent,
    4) promote Chandler to take his place in the rotation
    5) release Pham, cause I don’t want ANY Pham.
    6) replace Pham with one of the players obtained in1 and 3.

BTW, Pham would have to gain 30 points on his average or lose 30 pounds to hit his weight.

You almost get your wish - Bucs bringing up Billy Cook to, at minimum, replace Brian Reynolds who's off on maternity/paternity leave. Seems like a decent hitter with no real pop in the minors although he hit 3 homers last September call up in 49 ABs. Maybe Pham is on way out when Reynolds returns? They need to dump Modjelewski (?) or whatever his name is.

I will be glad to see Cook on the big club. Stick him in there and see if he is successful. We already know of several who are not.
