That's why the next man up has to step up. Weather it be Sanders or a draft pick. But look at the past, we lost Plex, then came Holmes, Lost Holmes then came Wallace, Had Wallace then found Brown, now have Brown.....
So who is the next guy up?

an injury anywhere next year could be devastating. WR,OLB,S,ILB,TE already is a problem,RB, O-line,D-line, thank goodness gay was signed, or CB would be on the list.

No worries, that's our draft class, round per round. I'd swap the 3rd round with the 5th and we're all set :lolol:

I really hope we take Patterson out of UT in the first. This kid is the real deal.

Well if we really suffered injuries to all those positions theyd have no choice but to throw them on the field.

Yeah Blast but, Sanders needs to hold his catches. I think he will do that better this year

Him and Brown both, the two of them contributed to big losses last year.

Patterson seems to be a classic boom or bust prospect. He'll make the occasional splash play but then disappear for much of the rest of the game. Is it Justin Hunter that was on the opposite side of him at UT, I can't remember? He seems like a better target for the Steelers in rd. 2.

Justin Hunter has Wallace hands. Also he has already torn an acl too. A lot of people liked Hunter here in Knoxville though.

I'd take Hunter in a heartbeat, I think a lot of those drops were because of his knee and worrying about contact. The more time that goes by, the more confident he will get where he is only focusing on the football.

Tood McShay had this to say about Hunter:

"If you're looking for someone to run vertical routes and stretch the field … a poor man's Randy Moss, that's what Justin Hunter is. … He's a silky-smooth route runner, and he's the guy quite honestly when they needed a throw, when they needed to pick up a first down, when they needed a play at Tennessee, that's where they went. It wasn't to the other guy, Patterson. He's the one who showed up consistently on tape. I think he's a better football player than Cordarelle Patterson."

Have they even expressed any interest in Hunter at all? Yesterday people were making fun of me because they think we are gonna take Bray. I told them people outside of Knoxville think Bray is better than the people here do. A very reliable source told me yesterday that after Bray got in trouble for throwing beer bottles at people that the girl who told on him found her car window smashed out the next day and was gonna press charges but Bray said he would pay and they were swept under the rug. My best friend is a jailer at the Knox County jail and he said that when a UT player gets arrested there are usually people from the university there to throw their bail before they even make it there themselves. He said there's a lot of dirty stuff that goes on with the players. But it seemed that at one point a few years ago that Bray and Hunter had made a pretty good tandem and then Hunter tore his ACL at the FL game I believe wasn't it? People here were devastated.

Have no idea if they have met with Hunter or even expressed interest but they did meet with Bray so who better to pick the brain of the guy who was throwing to him. As far as Bray goes, with his off field issues, I doubt the Steelers will draft him (sorry Jack!) Actually out of Hunter, Patterson and Bray, Hunter seems to be the only one who has his head on straight.

I was asking someone about Patterson the other day and they said they didn't think he had any issues because I told them I was afraid he was a head case and they said "oh no he's not had any problems at all". What is it you're referring to exactly? Last night a guy told me that Patterson is really at his best with the ball in his hands but that he's really versatile as well. He said he thinks Hunter is better as just a pure receiver but overall Patterson is probably a better football player.

In Pattersons case, I wasn't referring to any off field issues, as far as I know he doesn't have any, his issues are on the field but with his over all talent I'd still be willing to take a chance on him, he's a play maker for sure. Lazy route runner though and disappears for stretches of games, some believe he would be a tough kid to coach. Not sure I buy into that though, at the pro level he will have vets around to keep his ass in line, he won't be top dog like he is on Tennessee. Now down the line, after he's had success, that stuff may resurface, who knows.

I actually just watched a video about him on NFL.COM that said his draft stock is falling and that teams are really hesitant to take him because they don't think he's gonna be able to grasp a pro system. They compared him to Justin Hunter and said Hunter is a great speed guy but has bad hands so there's no way I want him. As far as I'm concerned we just sent that same guy to Miami. But is it even confirmed that we would take a wr in the 1st?

Wallace didn't have a problem with drops until last season, and like Hunter, had something else on his mind, not getting hurt. In Wallaces case it was for a bigger pay day, ironic that he could have an under performing season and still cash in but he knew all he had to do is stay healthy and someone would pay. My point is, they both had distractions leading to drops, I'm not worried about Hunter at all.

Who knows what the Steelers are thinking, does anyone know what position they may target in the first? No way to really answer until we see who is still on the board when they go to pick.

Yeah with Wallace I was thinking just today that his drops started in the Cincy game on the road last year and I guess he just couldn't overcome them mentally. In that one game he had like 5 drops didn't he?

Sanders runs a 4.41 so it's not as if he can't go deep. IF he stays healthy he will do well as a starter.
