  2. No. Mason wouldn't have been much different

Every fumble on third down is in essence a turnover

A 5 yard out pattern on third and 8 is a turnover (NOD was the master of this)

Though he didn't have to against the awful Chargers, Steve Young was a running QB.

You can win a super bowl with a running QB if he is also able to throw!

@S.T.D@S.T.D hate the running QB even if he is great like Josh Allen

Rodgers needs to get on the phone with Khan about acquiring another receiver.

Tarkenton was a 'running/scrambling' QB. As the game has evolved, different tactics have been used and applied at just about every position. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I started to list starting QBs from last season that are considered running/scrambling QBs. It would be much easier to list QBs that are pure pocket passers only.

    https://www.nfl.com/news/ranking-al...from-2024-lamar-jackson-or-josh-allen-at-no-1

It's how the position is played nowadays.

No wait those don't count You own words. Kapernick, and Newton don't count. Sorry just using your own words , they were flukes. Neither did much , before , or after, flukes. Sounds stupid doesn't it, but I'm just using your own words against you.

There is a huge difference in scrambling Qbs, and Running Qbs. I shouldn't have to point this out, but I will give an example......
Also this is not for you Born2Steel, but for people that don't know the difference.
    Ben was a scrambling Qb
Cam Newton was a running Qb.
    A. Rodgers, and Pat Mahomes are scrambling Qbs
Lamar Jackson, and J. Allen are running Qbs.
It's all about running to throw the ball, and running to run. The amount of times a Qb actually runs, vs the times the Qb just scrambles to throw the ball.
All the Qbs I mentioned as Running Qbs, actually run the ball 100 , or more times a year. Hell some of these Qbs run more than there backup rbs.
All the Qbs I mentioned as scrambling Qbs, never do, and not even close.

And a running QB who is able to throw is not a bad thing....3 of the 4 QB with 100 or more runs last season have been in the title game and the other had 41 TD,4 INT,over 4000 passing yards

They gave their team a good chance to win and one of those have won the super bowl

Josh Allen has been a beast in the playoffs in his career despite no super bowl berth so far

The middle of the field was used by Wilson last year, and he's an old man. I showed charts last year.
No Fields didn't use the middle of the field, but Wilson did. I gave the proof last year.

That's awesome. Those guys I named, those scrambling Qbs they have actually went to SBs , and won., but hey that's cute that those others help their teams.....apparently not enough.

Wilson was throw deep or checkdown...Nothing in between, like in the 10-20 yards range in the middle of the field outside of few exception

Not disagreeing with a single thing in that post. My thinking is that if a QB is a threat to tuck the ball and take off running on any play, he is a running QB. All QBs scramble to some extent. I would much rather have the Manning/Brady style pocket passer than the Hurts/Jackson style run first QB. That is my own preference, probably because of how I grew up watching the game played. Still, having said all that, I do like Steve Young/Josh Allen style guys as well. They can beat you with running and passing. Randall Cunningham was that type QB. If Justin Fields was a better passer and was more able to take snaps from under Center, I would be sad he left.

I love scrambling QB too...I prefer scrambling and running QB who can throw in the current NFL over the pocket QB
