well MT couldn't do it with a HOF franchise QB younger than 42 when he had him for years, what makes anybody think this will be different. who thinks rodgers is better than ben? might as well have kept ben around. let him throw to metcalf.

I agree the 2017 season was a turning point.

 

Any Given Sunday those teams aren't unbeatable.

 

I know they were tired of Pickens, but it would've been nice to see what the offense would like with Rodgers at QB along with Metcalf and Pickens.

 

Unless there's injuries to franchise QBs.... Steelers prospects for playoff success is pretty damn bleak.

For the steelers yes when this is the playoffs...How many other games(that that the steelers are down 21-0)you need before you learn?

This is not bad luck like Marty Schottenheimer had in almost every playoffs games and he could never catch a break....In the steelers case,they have been down by at least 21 points in every playoffs game in the last 6 games...No excuse for that

A team like the ravens in 2022 were able to be competitive in a playoffs game against a very good bengals team with one of the worst backup in the league,so the franchise QB thing is not the only reason....Our defense is pathetic every time with our outdated scheme and nothing change

Their point is trying to be as competitive as they can within the parameters of their current situation (drafting a QB next spring). Howard isn't ready to face NFL defenses, and Rodgers is still a better QB than Mason. I don't like Rodgers, but when they failed to retain Fields there really wasn't anyone better in the market or the draft.

They painted themselves into a corner by not retaining Rudolph last year. I would've been alright with a developmental approach and starting the season with him and looking to transition to Howard around midseason. But letting him leave in free agency signaled that they didn't see him as a part of any solution going forward, and he followed up by struggling in Tennessee. So nobody would've taken seriously the idea that they believed in either him or Howard - whom they waited until the sixth round to select.

 

Did they win , or did they lose. You youngsters, and Your.....well it was close....LoL

 

You need to be at least competitive if you want to win first....When this is not the case,you have no shot.Again this is not hard

 

there is no easy path to getting a franchise QB.
We just have to cycle thru arms until we find one.
This process might take 10 years.
