  1. Yes. It's an upgrade over Mason.

  2. No. Mason wouldn't have been much different

  3. No start Will Howard

My answer is, of course. If you are wanting to win football games and have a shot at having this season matter at all, ARod gives us the best chance for that.
If you think our rookie needs to be able to sit and learn behind an HoF/MVP QB until he is either ready to play, or it's discovered he never will be, ARod is the only chance for that.
We all knew this was coming. Why do some of you seemed shocked?

I don't think it's good for the long term because we'll end up drafting later in the first round next year when we're trying to replace him, but you also have to do this for TJ, Cam and some of the other veterans by giving them the best possible chance to win now. With that said, we also should have kept GP for this year.

    Rogers - Providing:
    - He is in shape.
    - Has a great camp

Howard should not see the field unless it is mop up time.
Howard is projected to be a career backup (I hope he exceeds that) and at best should be coached up which means sitting and learning like Love did.
Mason is best as a spot player.. we should be good there.

From strictly competitive standpoint for 2025, considering available options over the last several weeks, yes.

From a standpoint more philosophical that the poll intends, no.

I don't feel anything at all. Maybe he gets us 2-3 more wins. I still have very low expectations for this year (admittedly, that's probably a self defense mechanism).

But if he doesn't get us over the hump, it'll feel like a waste.

If this was A-aron from 7-8 years ago? I'd be pumped.

You don't even have to go that far back. He won his last MVP award in 2021, but the decline has been steep since then.

Considering all the other options AR does give the team some hope. Now bring on the drama and another WR.

I have no idea beyond that he is here. Alos have no idea if they give a presser to introduce a one year signing, this would make me feel more embarrassed for the team than I already do (after this fiasco). Just do the work and show us what you got, enough non-sense words have been spoken.

I think it was Dan Patrick today who said with MR they probably get 9 wins (generous thinking, but certainly possible). Then said with Rodgers you might get more, but minus a play off win it really adds little value, both long and short term. I know the yearly speech, put the best team on the field, but I wonder if Rodgers for one year may actually keep us in the continued prospect of too good to be bad, too bad to really be competitive. if we get to the po's and even get a win, it puts us in a far more difficult spot to get into the top 10 at the draft, let alone top 5. It is what it is and the rest will get sorted out, but at times you have to look beyond the short term to build for the future.

Yes, it's a definite upgrade from Mason, who couldn't beat out Kenny Pickett for two years, and now Steelers fans think he's great???? If he was good, the Titans would have kept him or some other NFL team sign him to be their starter.

I don't get the so-called Steelers "fans" rooting for Rodgers to fail, just to say they were right, and you know they're out there. Like they would have been happy with a six-win season with Mason! This is not the franchise to throw a season away waiting for a quarterback to develop either. I saw a stat that showed Rodgers last nine games with the Jets last year and the numbers were quite good especially considering how bad the Jets were.

I root for the Steelers and the black and gold no matter who's wearing the jersey. Here We Go! You may find the below interesting.

No. Steelers would net as many wins or more with Rudolph. My predictions of what happens to the Steelers have been super accurate as of late. I hit it out of the park with the Pickens prediction. And of course, Pickens is no longer on the roster.

Not a fan but admit he is a HOF QB. Someone with the career he has had in the NFL should have at least 2 SB's soooooo........;)

Its better for the Qb room to have a former super bowl champion in there and who can still hit receivers over the middle. As far as wins and losses, i dont know how much a difference a 42 year old Qb can make over MR, like someone said, maybe 2 wins.

I am not sure with current Rodgers they get an extra win. He has much less to prove than MR, and after couple of nasty AFC North hits, he will be questioning his decision and bailing out on plays. He is 'me first' guy and this is a team sports. He has history of being unlikeable, otherwise he would still be in Green Bay. Tomlin feels that this will give him better chance to keep his streak of non losing season alive. My prediction is Aaron will be out mid-season and it will be up to Mason to keep that streak alive. My frustration with this team is not the players, but coach and the nepo baby Art Rooney the owner.

Rudolph isn't getting a four-year window. You may as well accept it.

All of what you said, and i think most agree. The one issue for me is the post Ben plan, and whatever was tried failed, and we are still in that phase. I get decent Qb's (let alone top 10) are hard to find, but trying to thread the needle with aging guys is not working either.

Omg... some of you are unsure if Rodgers is better than Rudolph??? Are you new to the NFL? 35% Rodgers is better than MR has ever been. It's not even a conversation.

Rodgers signed a1-year deal. I have seen it as a $20M deal and also as a $10M deal with incentives. Either way that is on the cheap. So we didn't over-spend at all. AND, it's not set up to be a long term thing. For the, 'I don't like it long term' crowd, it's already not long term.

Weirdo out not, he's not kicking puppies or harassing women.

Mason is certainly not better than prime Rodgers or Ben, but 29 year old Mason is as good or better than 40 year old Ben or 42 year old Rodgers.

I voted yes. My expectations for 2025 are still pretty low. But having Rodgers at QB at least gives the Steelers hope.
