after the training camp like what his mentor Brett Favre did in his last 2 years with the vikings.....The question will be if it will be with us or not?

Belichick took the Browns from 6-10 his first year to 11-5 with a playoffs win in his fourth season.

Brady was a backup filling in for an injured starter when Belichick won his first Super Bowl in New England. He was more likely to be Jeff Hostetler at that point. Belichick was the coach who developed a sixth-rounder into arguably the greatest quarterback of all time.

I don't like the guy and I think he cheated even more than we know, but some of the nonsense about him just being a product of Brady's greatness is just foolish.

I'm certain 52, 58, and 59 are more or less permanently off limits. I'm a little disappointed they have allowed a few guys to wear 47, though none since 2006.

Does anybody remember the one player to wear 59 since Jack Ham?

I had to look it up, so I'm not going to spoil it for anybody, but PFR actually states there were two. Feels like I should remember one, but I don't.

    Todd Seabaugh 1984
    Malik Reed 2022

Profootballreference has Reed with both numbers, too, but I thought he only wore 50 in actual games.

The other one was correct. I vaguely remember him only because 1984 was the year I blossomed into a full-on football junkie.

Pulling out a season or 2 without Brady doesn't erase the fact that he still has a losing career record outside of Brady and hasn't won a damn thing without him....
I do believe Bellechick is one of the greatest defensive minds that ever lived, but as a head coach, he got lucky

Exactly. Anyone trying to argue on Belichick's record without Brady is foolish. He was a defensive genius but even that didn't help him as the HC in CLE to beat Neil O'Donnell. And for all his genius he had zero teams calling after leaving NE.

Yes since he made terrible choice at the OC position in 2022....I mean Matt Patricia was their OC in 2022.:roflmao:

Also Brady was not a all-time great at the start of his career....In 2001,in the finals 8 wins including the playoffs,Brady had only 3 TD pass.Brady was good in 2003 but still not great

He is 73 years old and you don't know how many teams called. Perhaps he wanted more control and commitment than teams wanted to give him at his age.

I meant 47...for Blount, not 37 for Lake in my previous post. Lake was a great player for Steelers but not HOF.

Mandatory minicamp might be the walking away point for Mr Rooney if he is not here

I certainly hope so. I've been arguing for them to walk away for a while, but that should be the last straw.

Not that my opinion counts but for me that is the walking away point

At tgst point the team needs to build cohesion and stability and not be juggling

Pete Carroll is 73 and had no problem getting a three year contract. Control? Yea, no team was going to give Belichick control after what he looked like post Brady.

Yeah,Belichick is still a very good head coach but he has been a poor GM in the last several years with the pats....His draft was bad at the end

Carroll was out of coaching for a year, so "no problem" isn't quite accurate. Also, it's the Raiders. And you still don't know if teams did or did not call Belichick.
