    we also now have the other guy we liked in fangupo. i'd say we are as set as we can get right now. all 3 have played some 3-4 DE too, which is a plus, instead of them sitting and waiting they can backup other spots if needed. i like our d-line for this year woods included.:cool:

    Yep, Fangupo too, I'd be surprised if they look to address it but then again I was surprised to see an article bringing the position into question. I think we're good there though, think this guy is just blowing smoke out his butt.

    The Steelers brought back Ta'Amu because he has huge upside as a potential nose tackle. I'm sure they will chat with him about being a thickheaded dolt off the field, but I think they're looking for him to see significant playing time this season and play enough snaps for them to make a judgment in 2014 on whether to invest a high pick at the position. Therefore, I don't see us going with a nose before the late rounds (if at all) this year. This draft isn't exactly rich in nose prospects anyway, and there may not be one out there who would displace Ta'Amu or McClendon as a rookie anyway.

    i wouldn't be a bit suprised if it ends up in the next couple of years as heyward, moo and mclendon. i think he could be a very good DE also. maybe ta'amu and fangupo man the nose.

    If a NT is out there I have to believe they will grab one. I'm not sure the draft will shake out that way for us though?

    That guy from Ohio St. is supposed to be pretty good. And I have heard good things about the guy from Souther Missouri.

    I never liked the Ta'amu pick really.

    I don't think so either. We have to to see if these guys pan out. If they don't we'll look next draft.

    I think McClendon would be a beast of a 3-4 de. He has the agility and would basically eat the guard and tackle every time. I wouldn't expect a bunch of sacks from him but I would from the lbers on his side.

    I agree with those who suggest that McClendon will end up at end. I see Mu as our 2 down nose tackle, with McClendon sliding inside on passing downs. That will take some time to come about since Mu likely has some learning to do before he can be that guy.

    With McLendon, Ta'Amu & Fangupo in the mix, I think yes, atleast for this year. DE is the bigger concern along the Dline.

    I still say if there is a NT they like they will draft one this year.... Its really a matter of how the Steelers grade the NT's in the draft out out, which is hard to get a feel for. Ta'amu and Fangupo are replaceable at this point in my eyes.

    Teams have until tommorrow ( Friday ) to make offers to RFA and McLendon visited the Packers this week. If they offer him a contract we're in trouble. Look for us to thing re-sign Hampton to a vet min qualifying 1 year contract and draft a DL in the 1st 3 rds. This move could also force Ziggy inside to NT.
