My Octopus Teacher on Netflix was good. I will not confirm or deny I cried at end.

I'm a reader, mostly those fiction psychological thrillers but once in awhile I read a simple mystery. Remarkably Bright Creatures was a cool story with a Giant Pacific Octopus named Marcellas helps solve a crime. Again won't confirm or deny I cried at end.

I took a date to see ET and at one point caught myself crying and was embarrassed she might see me

Then the next scene was very bright and I looked around and realized pretty much the entire theatre was crying

Watched Novocain last night. It isn't an instant classic, but it's a pretty fun movie.

And there's something surreal about watching Jack Nicholson's son fight Dennis Quaid's son.

I watched the 2016 remake of Ben Hur last night. I was pleasantly surprised at it. Although I'm a huge fan of the original so....

If you're a fan of Airplane, you absolutely have to watch Zero Hour, the 1957 drama movie it was based in part on. While it's a serious movie with serious actors, it's an absolute riot watching it knowing how each of the scenes and characters were spoofed in Airplane 23 years later.

Here's a side by side comparison. I think I laughed harder watching Zero Hour than Airplane. Priceless. :lolol:

It was in the theaters briefly. It's free on Paramount+ now (and available to rent everywhere).

The trailer has some foul language. Just a warning for anyone wanting to avoid that.

In my last night to watch movies for the week, I watched a 2024 movie directed by Zoe Kravitz....Lenny daughter.
    It was called Blink Twice.
It was way better than I thought it would be. Has anyone seen it??

You must have been a fan of this 1960's LA Rams QB (before your time a bit but so were the vintage Roman times) upload_2025-5-23_11-3-7.jpeg

He was a very decent QB for the Rams and later went on to acting in movies and TV shows, often as a Native American although he was Filipino-American (first in the NFL). He was head football coach for 3 years 1980-82 at my Alma Mater (Cal Poly U Pomona) where they managed in his 1st year to lose 93-7 to Portland State and QB Neil Lomax (St Louis and Phoenix Cards). 2 weeks later Portland State beat Delaware St 105-0! Within days of Roman resigning the HC role, the school discontinued their football program.

I dug it and really dug the ending. I have trouble with abuse of women (stupid 3 sisters) and was happy it was very short when they got graphic. IMO that was a brilliant concept.

Exactly. It was way better than I thought it would be. Although I thought the very ending , the very last few minutes was a bit corny, or unbelievable, but all in all I thought it was good.

When it shows how she took over the corporation was a bit far fetched.

I watched a Mila Jovovich movie last night called 'Monster Hunters'. The title is a bit misleading. Ron Perlman plays a role in this one as well. Nothing serious here, just a fun action movie with lots of unexplained monsters and people fighting them. These type movies aren't so much story driven as much as just blowing stuff up. Not surprising it wasn't up for Best Picture, but I enjoyed it all the same.
