I gave You a handful of games off the top of my head, after You told me there wasn't many.
Also You keep talking about the Cardinals making the SB that Year.....they had a 9-7 record, won their division, and had a home game. Again I'm talking about teams at 500, or below winning their division, and getting a home game just because their division freaking sucks....hell I gave a handful examples off the top of my head.
You keep on about strength of schedule, but how is letting a 7-8-1 team get a home field advantage make it not ignore the strength of schedule, and the toughness of the division.
How was it fare that a Saint team that had a great division that year, and so they didn't win their division , had to travel to Seattle, who had a 7-9 losing team ,but their division was so bad they won anyway. Tell me how that didn't ruin the strength of schedule, and the strength of the division????

You remembered those finishes off the top of your head :lolol:

I got the Arizona record wrong, thought they were 7-9 that year but why does it matter when they only finish under .500? At least Hanratty is consistent that any team with a better record should get the home game.

At any rate, the proposal is not happening :dancing::rawk::applaud:

I am happy about that too. I understand on a certain level, a 13-4 Wild Card team going on the road game against a 10-7 Division winner, seems unfair, but there is a simple solution, win the damn division!

I don't like diminishing the prize of a home playoff game for division winners mostly because it lessens the rivalries. College Football is making this mistake, tossing aside tradition and rivalries, which makes the sport compelling and special.

Just getting a playoff spot diminishes the divisions, so what is the point of playing two games in the division or even having them?

You want to keep the AFC North, NFC East, NFC North, etc. teams together and having real stakes for winning that division.

I did remember then off the top of my head, I had to go look at the dates though.
I know it's not happening, and it sucks. I wasted all my time here. LoL

    I don't care about a 13-4 wildcard going to a 10-7 division winners.
Doesn't anyone read what I write??? LoL
I'm complaining about 12-4 teams having to go to 7-9 division winner teams, or 13-4 teams going to 8-9 division winner teams. It has happened quite a few times.

That's still dumb. I'll never forget Cowher's call against Dallas in the Super Bowl. Got them off-guard and recovered. I realize teams don't call for it very otften outside of end-of-game scenarios, but still, announcing it takes a lot away from it.

I read it. I know it has happened a couple times with division winners and losing records, but those instances are outliers.

I don't see a reason to change the rule to weaken the importance of winning a division for something that doesn't happen often.

Someone explain to me how it would weaken a team winning the division???
    Do the math
If You win Your division with a winning record , you would still more than likely get a home field game.
All the new rule (which didn't pass) would do , would stop teams that only win their division because their division sucks , from getting a home game. I don't get how people aren't seeing this. If You win your division at 7-8-1 , or 8-9 , You don't deserve a home game. It takes away from the teams actually winning in the regular season.

Didn't the Saints also do it against Indianapolis in the SB, and helped win the game for them???
