i, as a fan wanted to see pickens and DK together. thought it would be exciting to watch.

the team i think would have liked it as well, but i do believe it came down to he was going to create trouble with one year left on his contract and wanting a long term big money deal, also if not done, we also lose him next year or had to franchise him, which again creates a hold out type situation. so we would really get two years of frustration plus how he does act on the field when butt hurt. not worth it. got as much as they could for what was going to become a bad situation. for possibly two years.

when was the last time we really had to bring in a FA WR starter? most of ours were draft picks that evolved over the years.

i know most aren't too excited about our depth but i am. austin can be solid and he is a good punt returner. skowronek has worth as a special team gunner and can be a nice sneaky pass catcher. roc taylor has some game. 135 catches the last two seasons in college. taylor has good hands in traffic. ke shawn williams the same. williams has good hands as well and is a sneaky open type receiver. scotty miller has shown he can make some tough catches and brings that quickness to the position. wilson hopefully shows why we drafted him.

He is still coming up here because a few folks still can’t stop complaining about him. I wanted Linderbaum over a quarterback that year, too, but quite a few folks here are blinded by bitterness and the team doing a good job of making Pickett a scapegoat.
Thompson? Come on, AQL. You know better than that.

Well Pickett led Pitt to a Conf. Championship and their best season in years for the program. Then quit on them with a real nice Bowl matchup on deck and a chance to finish the season strong. Pitt lost without him. Kaleb led the Hawkeye to a 8-5 regular season and a ****ty bowl game that doesn't matter except for colleges getting a payday. I don`t know about all those other players you mentioned. But I see a glaring difference in both scenarios of the players I mentioned. Johnson had 7 carries in bowl game so he didn't quit.

No, Johnson did not carry the ball seven times in Iowa's bowl game. He opted out. Here is the box score from that game. What he did is no different from what Pickett did. Bowl games outside of the college football playoffs aren't worth much these days. That is why it is standard practice for players to opt out. Pickett did what he set out to do, lead Pitt to the ACC championship, then did what many other players in his position do in recent years. That you don't know this is a flaw in your knowledge, not his decision.

I feel bad for Pickens. If anyone got screwed the most by bad game plans and coaching it was him. His raw talent on day one made him the best wide receiver on the field, even as a rookie. How many times would you look at your screen or watch the game from the stands and wonder why the hell are they not throwing it to pickens?

Not only that, Mike Tomlin has a habit of mismanaging top tier WRs and enabling them into divas.

And now I see everyone here taking up the mob-metality and rallying against him. In my opinion your rage is misplaced and should go towards our coaching for screwing him up and many other players. I would be pretty pissed off if I was pickens too.

First time I ever saw 3 paragraphs that should have been in green font

Pickens is reaping what he sowed

Yeah, the poor guy is going to get to play with a better quarterback with a stud receiver as a teammate. lol

And if they don't throw him the ball enough, or pay him, we will be hearing how much nicer his 3 team is from him.
