Our high end receivers dance on opposing teams logos, snap mentally, act like a 6 year old, and generally act like a jerk.

A woman was given the surprise of a lifetime when Travis Hunter sat next to her on a plane – except she had no idea who Hunter even was.

Hunter, of course, is the two-way football star who turned his skills into a Heisman Trophy and became the second pick of the NFL Draft last month.

But, Hunter was on a United flight last week when he sat next to Sandy Hawkins Combs, who was flattered by Hunter.

"I had the most wonderful flight home from Denver. I met the nicest young man who sat next to me. He offered to put my bag in the overhead compartment and helped me with my tray. He was always polite, saying ‘yes ma’am’ or ‘no ma’am.’ Anyone would be proud to have him as a son or grandson – so polite," Combs said of Hunter in a Facebook post.

At this point, though, Combs still had no idea who this stranger was. But then, other passengers started noticing him.

"People walking by were saying congratulations, great job, or even taking pictures. I turned and asked him, ‘Who am I sitting next to?’ I looked at his Jaguar pants, smiled, and asked, ‘Are you an athlete?’ He smiled and said, ‘I’m Travis. Yes, I was drafted by the Jags.’ I already told my sons I want his jersey," Combs continued.

"He’s so humble and down-to-earth – I would have never guessed he was a professional athlete. JACKSONVILLE JAGS, you did good! I will be buying tickets. United Airlines, thank you for my seat assignment!"

I was told back in the day that the Steelers have no trouble drafting Wrs, and I suggested that was because Ben could make most Wrs look good, and some laughed. Yet since Ben's left.....We don't seem to be doing so great at it.
Therefore My idea that Qb make most wrs seems to be????

I agree that top QBs elevate their WRs - I remember the Packers of the mid-90s into the 2000s; if one left there'd be a new guy the next year. Sterling Sharpe, Donald Driver, Antonio Freeman, Javon Walker, Jordy Nelson, etc.

But on-field skill isn't what he was referring to. And the ones the Steelers are drafting are talented. They're being traded because of their attitudes.

I know, but I was just bringing up an old point. LoL
I mean let's look at some of the problem Children for us lately. JuJu(If we can call him a problem, many did on here)= outside of the SB he won with KC, his best years were with Ben, Claypool =Best years with Ben, DJ= Best years with Ben.

Great musician and pretty good actor, too.

Many don’t know Daltrey played immortal Hugh Fitzcairn on the TV series Highlander.

If you want the Steelers to be in the running for worst team in the league, like the Browns and the Titans, then you can draft a WR like the one in your article.

Now he is broke again and you don’t hear a peep out of him. These kids should actually have to learn something while skating through college.

I think the combo of Dan passing away and several concussions tilted AB's needle to the wrong side of broke.

How much did it add to this the fact they had begun to subscribe to this theory that fans also held of being WR1 vs WR2 or god forbid WR3? Brown definitely cast a large shadow and he helped the others out by drawing focus but after he was gone its like they went looking for square pegs and Ben hammered them in even though they shouldn't have.

Are you asking why we can’t get top rated receivers or players with character? There’s a reason why the Jags got a chance at Hunter. They sucked! And they mortgaged future draft picks to get Hunter.

As for players with high character. We have or had guys like Heyward, Watt, Ward, Bettis, Keisel, Polamalu, Villanueva, Heath. And those are just the most recent ones

Could argue that. I've seen Bradshaw and Ben R. throw many wild balls into the air with hopes a receiver would do their magic.

Why can't Steelers get WRs like Travis Hunter? Because Steelers are a mediocre doormat franchise that ekes out 9-10 wins every year with a washed up HC that drafts every year around 20. All the top-notch WRs are long gone by then.... we're talking Chase, Jefferson caliber WRs.

Yes, because it would be so awesome to be a 3-win non-doormat franchise…

At least Steelers would get a pick in the top 10 or top 5. It's long overdue.... the franchise desperately needs a shot of adrenaline. New head coach and early 1st round draft pick would be just what the doctor ordered. :smiley1:
